Then there is the problem of the increased tendency toward the sin of presumption that, IMHO, is more likely with blessed assurance/easy believerism.

HaHaHa...Blessed Assurance is a sin...

It's gotta be rough going thru life not knowing if you are a child of God...

You guys don't even know if you will make it to your purgatory...

If you are good enough, maybe you will get to heaven...I'm here to tell you, you won't be good enough...I will never be good enough...None of the Apostles were good enough...

The sin of presuming that when Christ said we could KNOW we have eternal life, that He meant it? And "easy believerism"..that's a joke. There is nothing "easy" about attempting to show unbelievers that salvation is a free gift from God. That there is nothing a person can do to earn it. That it is God who justifies the ungodly. That we are sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise unto that day. That although our outward man perishes, our inward man is renewed day by day. That we are to put no confidence in the outward man. That we are, at this moment, spiritually seated in heavenly places in Christ. That we are dead, and our life is hid with Christ in God. That we are promised by God to be saved from His wrath. That we are new creatures.

No. The "easy believerism" is to just "say this", "do that", "don't do the other", and voila'! God smiles and gives you a thumbs up on your good efforts.

Indeed.

I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness [come] by the law, then Christ is dead in vain. - Galatians 2:21

For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one [point], he is guilty of all. - James 2:10

To God be the glory, not man, never man.

Part of the sin of presumption is thinking God must forgive you even if you don’t repent, no matter how big of a jerk you are.
