At the Angelus, Benedict XVI emphasizes the responsibility of the pastors of the Church, especially those who have a "role of authority." An invitation to professors to concern themselves with forming people in the truth, "so they can discern where the truth lies, and make free choices."
Vatican City (AsiaNews) Gods concern for every man, for his entire life is "surrounded" by the protection of guardian angels and the responsibility of the pastors of the Church, especially those who have a "role of authority" were the subject of Benedict XVIs Angelus this Sunday, before 20 thousand people in St. Peter's Square, his first since returning from his summer residence in Castel Gandolfo.
The Pope also drew inspiration from todays Sunday's Gospel that "closes with a particularly severe warning by Jesus, addressed to the chief priests and elders of the people: ' Therefore, I say to you, the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to a people that will produce its fruit' (Matt. 21.43). These words make us think of the great responsibility of those who in every age, are called to work in the vineyard of the Lord, especially in a role of authority, and the push us to renew our full fidelity to Christ. He is' the stone which the builders rejected '(cf. Mt 21:42), because they considered an enemy of the law and dangerous to public order, but he himself, rejected and crucified, rose again, becoming the' cornerstone' on which the foundation of all human existence and the whole world may rest with absolute certainty".
Firmly anchored in faith in the cornerstone who is Christ, abiding in Him like the branch that can not bear fruit of itself unless it abides in the vine.

First prayer taught to me as a very young child was the prayer to my Guardian Angel.
Guardian Angel prayer
Angel of God, my guardian dear
To whom God's love entrusts me here
Ever this day (night) be at my side
To light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen
“All guardian angels are not created equal. Some have yet to earn their wings. :-)”
I am guarded in my home by two Guardian Angels, Second Class. They wear fur coats.
I’ve had a few close calls that I know I’ve experienced Divine intervention.
I tripped on the first step of a steep staircase carrying my 6 month old and as I pitched forward, unable to right myself because I clutched the baby in front of me, I felt someone push me back so that I went down the stairs with my legs folded under me. Essentially, knee first. Neither of us was hurt. I slid all the way to the bottom of the stairs without injury and remarkably without any pain or bruising.
The second was my son who passed out from an illness while driving on a 55mph highway went across the oncoming two lanes of traffic at noontime on a workday, took out the guardrail and was finally stopped when he plowed into a tree. The tree kept him from going over a 20’ embankment below.
He survived with some breaks and bruises, but he survived.
There are just so many times that we (my family) have experienced what can only be intervention in our safety.
I really have to apologize for stupidity when I was young to my guardian angel when I eventually leave this realm!
