A Wisconsin man is expected to become the first openly gay candidate ordained in the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) since the church opened ordination to gay candidates earlier this year.
...Its hard to believe its finally happening, Anderson said in a released statement on Friday. The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) officially began allowing the ordination of openly gay and lesbian candidates on July 10.
n May, Twin Cities Presbyterians cast the historic vote to allow openly gay and lesbian members to be ordained ministers. Presbyterian leaders say the Twin Cities vote was the action needed to end the 2.1 million-member denominations national ban on gay clergy.
The denomination, based in Louisville, Ky., is the latest mainline Protestant group to move toward accepting same-gender relationships.

Because we know its all about him.
Give us that feel good religion, give us that feel good religion. ;-)
The name "Yom Kippur" means "Day of Atonement." It is a day set aside to "afflict the soul," to atone for the sins of the past year. On Yom Kippur, the judgment entered in these books is sealed. This day is, essentially, your last appeal, your last chance to change the judgment, to demonstrate your repentance and make amends.
They'll show all those evil nasty bible thumpers!!
Gay man + ordained = oxymoron
Very interesting that it was the St. Paul MN crowd that pushed them over the top, or the bottom as the case may be. Undoubtedly too many congregations had too many former, but still just as Leftwingtard, ELCA members trying to do an ethnic bounce from staid, stable, dull Scanderhoovian forms into wild, vibrant redheaded nastiness or something.
Frankly I think they are all quite misguided.
I agree. It's definitely hard for me to believe a “Christian” church would bring God's judgment on itself by ordaining homosexuals. So, Christians for millenia have been completely wrong about sodomy, women giving up natural relations for other women, etc.? We've all misinterpreted the Bible, and this so-called church has it figured out right? All those scriptures about selecting only the best of the best for church leadership? More nonsense, right?
GAH!
More seriously, I would hate to be the members of this so-called Christian church at the final judgment. May God have mercy on their souls! Seriously! If they only knew what was coming, they would never risk so much for so little.
It’s times like this when members have a choice to make. Do they love God more than their traditions.
Actually, it’s caused because they abandoned tradition which said “God says marriage is between a man and a woman”
Well, this is to be expected, right? If it all comes down to their flawed interpretations, they can personally interpret anything they want in God's Word.
It happened because we were silent when we allowed dress down Friday in our schools, wayyyy back in the sixties.
Though I do admit that my beliefs are that all of this is related to the ease of divorce and the acceptance, nay promotion of "shacking up" since the 1960s
If they're so damn proud of being sexual perverts, then use the correct term.
You can call yourself a Church but the day you go against God’s Word and except sin instead of seeking to redeem the sinner you are no longer a Church of God.............
Ordaining homosexuals isn't a "tradition" anywhere except Sodom and Gomorrah. The word "tradition" comes from the Latin traditio, "to hand over". This isn't the faith that was "handed over" to them. If the PCUSA had any regard for tradition, they wouldn't have been able to imagine anything like this, because their ancestors in the faith sure didn't.
If he gives a speech/sermon that “many married Presbyterian ministers are tempted toward adultery but defer to God’s Will and His Word. Similarly, I am tempted in other directions. So long as we all recognize that the Bible is the final authority, merely having these temptations is not a barrier to serving God,” I’m happy with him. If, like so many gay activists, he thinks that having carnal desires gives him the right to revise scripture and overrule God, then he has no business in the pulpit.
I am sure he is a virgin, and has no sexual partners, and isn’t engaged in any adulterous liaisons.
Are you kidding?
Just recently I've realized that I made a mistake thinking earlier "ok, let them have civil unions" -- give the pervs an inch and they try to make the world change to their perversion.
Now I say ban this perversion just as we imprison rap ists etc.
