On Wednesday, I will be having laser surgery for a cataract. Even though I know that this is now a routine procedure, I am very anxious, especially since I am squeamish about stuff being put into my eyes.
Please pray for me to receive the grace from the Holy Spirit that will allow me to place it all in Gods Hands.
Prayers up. PS: A couple of months after my mother had this surgery we were talking on the phone, and she said, “When’d I get so wrinkled!? Why didn’t anybody tell me my bathtub wasn’t clean!” LOL! Beware. After the surgery you may notice your spouse is wrinkled, too!! Ha, ha.
Thank you.
Thank you.
“... BTW, I’m a woman”.
My head is hanging with shame. Truly shameful and remorseful. Don’t change your screen name! It is a wonderful one.
Yes.. call your doctor. Let him or HER know that you are stressed out and request something for the anxiety. I don’t see one thing wrong with taking the “edge off”.
Now you have me worried! Is Joe Six Pack really a woman? Is Tax Chick really a man? Lazmataz? Could Laz really be a....? No, I think we all know Laz is a guy. LOL!
You are in my thoughts and prayers. I will undergo cataract removal in both eyes later this month. The first on the 12th and the second two weeks later. Put your trust in the Lord and in your doctor.
Here’s to better vision for both of us!
You got it.
Prayer on the way. My brother has had cataracs removed from both eyes with no problems. My bible study pastor will be getting the same surgery and I will have it done soon.
“Eye Doctor?”
“No, you patient”
Prayers up
I had cataract surgery to both eyes about 3 1/2 years ago at the tender age of 55. I sprung for the Toric lense replacement at that time and the surgery and lense replacement was and is the best investment I could of made for my eyesight. It’s not perfect vision but I can read, legally drive and do many things without the aid of glasses although they do sharpen my vision. The actual surgery will be very quick-less than a minute or 2 if your guy is as good as mine. The Valium they give you will make it an enjoyable experience. Keeping your mind under control will most likely be your biggest challenge. I may go for a little tune-up to my right eye with the laser at some future time as nothing is knife edge sharp vision with that eye but the fear of going thru anything is gone and yours will be after. You will be surprised at the change, how much brighter the world is and be grateful for modern medicine.
I forgot to add I was among the worlds’ biggest sissies about putting anything in my eyes. Got trained on a new way to put drops in, it’s a piece of cake now and will be for you too Redd.
Prayers coming your way. Be encouraged! One lady I know got 20-20 vision back in one eye after her cataract surgery on that eye!
May The Lord bless you and keep you; May the Lord lift up his countenance upon you, and give you peace. |

St. Lucy, pray with us for the success of the operation.
Lord our God, grant Thy servant a restored vision, to Thy eternal glory.
In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost.
I’ll pray..let us know how youre doing..God Bless
You are a good son or daughter for doing that! I am sure she was extremely appreciative to have such a clean house!
You don't know the half of it....
When we left for the hospital mum locked the front door and put the auto lock on, and left the key inside the locked back door.
So I had to break the back window to get in, clean up the broken glass....get a new back window , putty and nails.
First thing she said on arriving back home (apart from the cobwebs and dust)...
What happened to the pattern on the back window and why doesn't the trim color match the door?
prayer bump
Prayers up. May allgo well and may it all draw you closer to Him.

Hey, BR, I see lots of folks have posted their cataract surgery experiences; let me give you mine.
I’ve now had both eyes done (about 18 months apart). I had the lens replacement surgery. For me, the worst part was dealing with all the eye drops. You get some to do at home, and just prior to the surgery they do a bunch more. They also put some goop in your eye before you go in to the operating room - blech. They DO give you a sedative before the surgery, so you are relaxed - it worked for me!
I WAS nervous before the first operation, but the whole thing was so anticlimactic that by the time I went in for the second, it was more “OK, let’s get this ball rolling!”
Funny anecdote: When my surgeon came in, she asked me if I had any questions. I said: “Yes. Have you done this before?” She quipped “No, this is my first time!” She was kidding; she said “I hate to admit this, but I’ve been doing these surgeries for almost 20 years.” :-)
The last eye was about 3 years ago, and at my latest visit she told me I may need some laser surgery to clear up some minor blotches.
The tendency is to build these things up to make them seem a LOT worse than they really are. Here’s praying your experience will be as non-eventful as mine was!
Prayers for God’s blessings on all.
I had both eyes done. Best operation I ever had.
