Looking at girls and having lustful thoughts, is really a sin?

Matt 5:
27 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall not commit adultery.’[e] 28 But I tell you that anyone who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart. 29 If your right eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to be thrown into hell. 30 And if your right hand causes you to stumble, cut it off and throw it away. It is better for you to lose one part of your body than for your whole body to go into hell.

Something to think about ...

‘Cause that’s what they taught us; it’s what’s in your mind that counts; your intentions, that’s how we’ll judge you. What you want to do. Mortal sin had to be a grievous offense, sufficient reflection and full consent of the will. Ya had’ta WANNA! In fact, WANNA was a sin all by itself. “Thou Shalt Not WANNA”. If you woke up in the morning and said, “I’m going down to 42nd street and commit a mortal sin!” Save your car fare; you did it, man! Absolutely!
It was a sin for you to wanna feel up Ellen. It was a sin for you to plan to feel up Ellen. It was a sin for you to figure out a place to feel up Ellen. It was a sin to take Ellen to the place to feel her up. It was a sin to try to feel her up and it was a sin to feel her up. There were six sins in one feel, man!

“Looking at girls and having lustful thoughts, is really a sin?”

Anyone can have a physical and emotional reaction. The sin occurs when one entertains the thoughts, emotions, feelings and you keep looking and desiring the “view.”

You reaction reduces that young lady to a mere object instead of one of God’s creations.

Jeesh! Didn't Jummy Carter explain this in 1976?

Matthew Chapter 5, Verse 28: Jesus: "But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart."

It's a tough one, but He said it. It always seems to get me in trouble!

“Thou shalt not covet”

You’ve heard that, I’m sure.

A lustful thought passing through your mind is not an occassion of sin. DWELLING on that thought is sinful.
