I’m not certain from your post, whether you are expressing skepticism or approval of Bishop Brodosky.
Would you clarify your remarks please, for those of us not in the loop?
Skepticism, because while I understand the NALC’s desire to jettison as many semblances to the ELCA as possible the bar for election on the fist ballot seems extremely low.
Skepticism also because there in an identity struggle within the NALC between those who self identify as evangelical catholics (mostly former LCA/ELCA, and most typtfied by the Society of the Holy Trinity) and those who are guardedly anticlerical pietists (mostly former ALC/ELCA)who would like NALC to be LCMC with a figurehead Bishop.
At this moment the latter party appears to be gaining.
It is a shame that the installation of the first permanent Bishop was downright anticlimatic, given the consecratory nature of the liturgy used for the merely interim Bishop.
