Also, consider Exodus 20:11

For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Putting a "gap" between the first and second day is extra-biblical. It is an assumption made without support of the text.

Exactly.

Iscool -- on what basis do you make this? it's like your post above adding the word "new" to earth and heavens -- does your group think that God recreated heaven many times?

It is based on scripture...God tells us much of creation was made after its kind...Birds made after Gen. 1:2 were made like the birds before Gen. 1:2...The only thing that was made differently was man...For the first time, God created a being in His image, man...

God tells Adam to 'replenish' the earth...That means to fill again...

There's plenty of scripture to support this idea...

May have created and recreated hundreds of times, or just once...He didn't tell us...
