Accuser selling Fr. John Corapi’s Rosary Blessed by John Paul II? (Catholic Caucus)
Orate Fratres ^ | June 19, 2011

Posted on 06/20/2011 6:54:44 AM PDT by NYer

From Facebook: “The seller admits to being Fr. Corapi’s accuser. She says she is raising money for her ministry yet the ebay account is personal and not a ministry account. This keeps getting more interesting by the minute…”

View the auction from eBay…

Up for bid is a very special Rosary that was carried by Father John Corapi (the priest seen on EWTN) during his formative years as a priest. He carried and prayed this Rosary during his years in the Seminary, while he was a Deacon, during his studies in Spain and long after being ordained a priest. In the year 2000 Father Corapi gave this Rosary to a friend. As much as the owner hates to part with this Rosary, it is being offered for sale to help support a growing internet Catholic ministry in need of financial support, the Online Catholic Network. http://www.onlinecatholicnetwork.com

This Rosary is extremely beautiful, possesses a life of its own, and has an amazing history.

According to Father John Corapi himself, while Father Corapi possessed the Rosary it was actually kissed by Mother Teresa of Calcutta and Blessed by Pope John Paul II (soon to be a saint!). This Rosary has been touched to the Tomb of St. Peter and many other tombs of saints in the catacombs of the Holy Land.

This Rosary also traveled with Father Corapi where it was prayed at events across the US and Canada as well as in Father Corapi’s private chapel for 10 years.

Please click on the images above and view the full size images to see the actual beauty of this Rosary.
The Rosary is a corded olive wood Rosary constructed of a very sturdy cord that shows no sign of wear despite the heavy praying and traveling. The beads are made of a beautiful dark olive wood from the Holy Land.

The Crucifix is made of a mixture of what appears to be gold and other metals and olive wood. The nails holding a meticulously sculpted gold Jesus on the cross go all the way through to the back of the cross.

Also on the Rosary is a very old silver Miraculous Medal that has traveled with the Rosary since it was used by Father Corapi.

This is a very special Rosary and is very hard to part with, but is being offered for sale for a very good cause and a very important ministry answering Pope Benedict XVI’s call to utilize the internet to evangelize. http://www.onlinecatholicnetwork.com

If you win this auction you can pray the Rosary if you like, or as the current owner will do if the Rosary does not sell for benefit of the Online Catholic Network, preserve it in a special sealed case because it is a true modern relic and a very rare special Rosary. This Rosary is truly one of a kind.

UPDATE - A note to all the people sending private messages about “selling” a blessed item:
This Rosary is indeed a blessed Rosary and a very special Rosary with an amazing history. It is not “for sale”. The Rosary is being auctioned to support a Catholic ministry – there is a huge difference. You are making a donation to a Catholic ministry, not buying the Rosary. Father Corapi himself has “given away” blessed Rosaries for years and even relics when people purchased product worth a certain amount.
God bless!

Translation:
I need some coin to tide me over, guys. I tried to blackmail Corapi, and that didn't work, so I figured I'd yell sexual abuse and get the really big pay day from the Catholic Church.

Begs the question; how did this women get Fr. Corapi’s personal rosary, that he supposedly carried with him for all those years?

Yep, the ones at the top are a pretty good depiction of you, only not quite as nutty.

The last I heard it had been taken off Ebay with zero bids.

What nobody wanted to pony up the 5,000 dollar starting bid?BTW, I made my comment (#41) about this being about bucks, blackmail, and mega payout from the RCC before I looked at ebay and saw the opening bide was $5,000.

The "penalties" God exacts are nothing other than his Love. He does not rejoice at the durance of the prisoner locked up until he has paid the last farthing, and He does not need the farthing which can not make Him more grand than He is already. In a way they are no more a "punishment" for sin than being obliged to run every day is a punishment for being out of shape.

Just every week or so you post something that absolutely is so moving and filled with truth, that I just rejoice for having read it.

Thanks. That was just the think I needed to read at this moment.

It was that selling of indulgences is why there was a “Protestant revolt” which the results are still with us to this very day.

yes, the corruption around indulgences was one of the triggers, but I pointed out that it has been banned since the 1560s. Also, there were other political reasons. We can't talk about the religious reasons on a Caucus thread (rm -- if this or Biggirls' post violates caucus rules, please delete these posts and keep the caucus), but I will talk about the political situation in europe in the 1400s-1500s -- strictly historical, not religious

Well, the Holy Roman Empire was in its twilight -- the German states were a squabbling mess. France and England were emerging as nation states -- in fact the very idea of a nation state was being built at that time which clashed with the earlier idea of a state built around a person or a religion. For more, we can dicuss on freepmail as I guess we may be dancing on the edges of the caucus rules already!

I hope, as a Catholic, my posting is not removed, all I am just saying is from a historic perpective, so even history comments cannot be said? Oh.

hi :) I don't really know -- I just wanted to ensure that if we were wrong (and we both are either right or wrong together), that it's just our posts that are deleted and the caucus remains.

Matthew, Mark, Luke and John, Bless the bed that I lie on.

Or are you referring to the advice to make peace on your way to court?

When I had the honor of serving as chief judge of the student court I used to say, "Litigation is its own punishment."

This Religion Forum thread is labeled “Catholic Caucus” meaning if you are not currently, actively Catholic then do not post on this thread.

Only one thing exceeds this woman’s greed, and that’s her stupidity. Ebay? Ebay????

Somebody convince me this isn’t all about the money. Because I think it is.

This woman (or her family or whatever associated to her) is after it. The bishop is after it. It’s my opinion that SOLT is after it.

If Fr. Corapi buckles, what will happen? If this situation is anything like the other ones I have seen in my time as a Catholic it will be something like this: He will find himself silenced & in legal, financial, physical, emotional & medical limbo for the rest of his life.

Most of these small diocesan institutes do not offer much of anything to their members, telling them to live in poverty & obedience. Which often means, do without medical insurance, make do, and shut up. I’ve seen a couple of them first hand and it’s a serious problem with these little outfits. I don’t know if SOLT is like this, but I wouldn’t bet a bag of peanuts on his chances of being okay in the most basic human way if he returns.

I don’t know what Corapi’s motive is in total. I think I know what the other motives might be though. I don’t blame him for trying to navigate this thing the way he has, regardless of his other merits or demerits, exaggeration etc....

PS, I’m not a fan of Fr. Corapi’s, and I’m appalled by this whole thing, but most of what I’m appalled about isn’t the stuff Corapi’s done so much, as the whole picture, which is very, very nasty.

Yeah, now you’ve gone and done it—set off the cradle Catholic blabbermouths who can’t stay on topic.

This thread is NOT about indulgences. Which is an entirely different subject altogether. Got it? Good.

Yes, I’m a catholic. I’m a convert. I love the church, but it’s full of blue-collar cradle catholics who can’t shut up about their darned over-reaching devotions. It can get to be a bit much. ;)
