I once read an article by a priest who claimed he couldn't be happy in Heaven without his pet dog, so he claimed that pets also went to Heaven. I'm not sure about the theology of that; I report it only FWIW.

Why did God make us? (you)?
God made me to love, honor and serve Him in this life and to be happy with Him in the next.
Nothing about pets on earth or pets in heaven
Now for the rhetorical question:
What is more important? Being in heaven with God or being with your pet?
