With Huckabee out, the next in line for the fundie vote is Sarah Palin (Extreme hurl warning)
The San Francisco Sentinel ^ | May 14, 2011 | Sarah Jones

Conservatives for Palin is rejoicing for the same reason some of you now have a dark cloud of fear hanging over your Saturday night. The fundie vote is up for grabs now that Huckabee is out and the second in line candidate is Sarah Palin. Yes, that’s right. Sarah Blood Libel Palin.

One day years ago, after the sportscaster fill-in job didn’t work out, a young Sarah Palin told a friend she wanted to be President one day. Today she wants it so bad she chokes on her own bitterness every time she has to say “Obama”. Palin has still not managed to disguise her anger and pettiness; it seeps through the hockey mom persona, visible in the curl of her lip and the jab of her accusatory fingers.

As always with Sarah, nothing she does makes any sense, leaving the pundits in the dark about her 2012 intentions. For example, it doesn’t look like she has a machine ready to run. She just parted ways with Scheunemann, her foreign policy adviser and only holdover from the McCain “Straight Talk Express” days, and is now palling around with Peter Schweizer, a fellow at the Hoover Institution and a former Brietbart blogger slash foreign policy adviser. Plus, we all know Palin doesn’t like to work. She quit her job, after all.

But she quit her job as citizen watchdog on the Energy Commission and used that to propel herself to the Governor’s mansion eventually. Who knew that quitting could be a stepping-stone? But in Sarah Palin’s case, it has been.

Sarah has ignored the advice of nearly every adviser out there, from Roger Ailes to Steve Schmidt and her polls reflect this. Palin is prone to paranoia and because of this, she doesn’t have many people she trusts. Or rather, there is no one she trusts.

Palin has made a seemingly endless stream of steady mistakes in the two and a half years since her powerful entrance to the national political scene. Through all of these transgressions, Palin has emerged relatively unscathed. Ironically the single largest thing that brought Palin down was her Blood Libel video. Americans loathe self-pity and Palin showed her propensity for it a little too clearly in that homage to her sense of victimhood and entitlement.

But she has kept a loyal following of far right conservatives and fundamentalists and given the way the Republican primaries work, Palin has a shot at winning her party’s nomination.

Palin is an enigma; she never governed like the rabid right winger she presents herself to be today on one hand – in fact, she was the most socialist governor we’ve had in a while – but on the other hand, she has always been a viciously competitive person who has never shied from using Evangelical siren calls of Jesus to further her ends. And Sarah Palin’s end is power.

I wish Sarah would be an awesome "family" role model, and steer away from politics until her kids have grown. A candidate IMO that could beat Obama would be someone like Bobby Jindal.

Jindal has three kids at home. Should he steer away from politics?

Jindal’s wife is not running for the presidency. Neither is Jindal, but I wish he was.

Todd is not running for the presidency either. Do I make my point clear?

No, I'm not sure you do. Sarah still has young children, and being a mom is a full-time position. She is not setting a good example by leaving them to save the country. That's man's work. And possibly a woman's too, but after the kids are fully raised. In other words, she can't do a great job being our mother (caretaker of our country) until she's already completed this same task at home.

About saving the country and what is man's work and what is women's work, I will point you to two who have been fearlessly fighting to save the country. That's Palin and that's Bachmann. Both are females. Then I will point you to the typical male candidate, who seems to be afraid to voice a valid opinion without offending the left. That's Mitch Daniels.

That's the said reality.

Look, their is nobody who wants the job of saving the country to be man's work. As a proud guy, that's what I want. But the job of saving the country should go to somebody who has earned it.

Sadly, there isn't a male candidate (other than maybe a Cain) in sight.

Once the American people waken to the truth of evil there is war. It may be bloody or it may not but there will be war.

Let there be no mistake, Obama has opened Pandora's box of Marxist chaos. The demons cannot be hidden. The truth, finally, is shining and the lies are exposed. The shackles of uncontrolled government are right now being welded with pretty lies on the hands and feet of every citizen. That is the truth.

Well said. We are at war with the marxist in the WH. No doubt this campaign is going to be many battles in a long war culminating with the battle of November 6, 2012, another "Day that will live in infamy".

Hey America, you want Presidential?

Sarah 2012!

Could you rephrase your question. Although I could join MENSA tomorrow by just showing them my ASVAB test scores, I find your post ‘above my paygrade’, as it were. Or maybe the Doritos and jalapeno dip have me stupified.

LoL. I went there to weigh in about the article, and got this: “Comments are closed.”

Methinks the Palin brigades got to the SFC rather quickly and they couldn’t stand the heat blowing back on their exposed arses.

Todd can take care of there kids, however they have one Special needs child and teen girls! YIKES that in itself is a full-time job, that IMO the mother is more suited as young girls trying to mature into responsible women...

Hopefully Sarah’s younger daughters will not be influenced by Bristol who has been stung by fame and money...

My point is that Todd can take care of the children and he often has in the past. But why would he want to???

It is not natural or inherant in Men not to want to work outside his home and care for his family.....

Women naturally find satisfaction in caring for her children and husband if her life is a happy enviroment with her family...

Men do not naturally find satisfaction being home caring for children and taking care of the home, thier satisfaction comes from working, completing projects, being useful in working..

We are 2 different genders, designed differently by GOD, so that when the two come together in Holy Matrimony they become *One* and that oneness compliments each gender.....

I think Sarah Palin is a great American, and she has done very well for herself, but her obligation is to her husband and children not the American people....

I like Herman Cain, proably will vote for him...

I agree! When God sent down His Child to teach and lead, the Child was a male, not a female. But the person who cared for Jesus up until His last breath was indeed a female, His mother, Mary.

So it would be cool IMO if Sarah backed out of politics and announced, "Sorry folks; I almost forgot, I've got a family to care for. See you all later."

It's great that you are so concerned about want Todd wants, but you don't speak for him. The choice will be his and the Palins.

Cain is great. That said, Cain has Stage 4 cancer. given his illness, I think his obligation to the American people, is not to run.

Right now, Palin and Bachmann are my top two choices and West be would be good, but he's not running.

Well glad to know..Cain is now cancer free!

Do you really think Todd Palin does not want to take care of his wife and children and protect them from harm?

I just don’t see Todd Palin doing first lady duties....

Well glad to know..Cain is now cancer free!

Apparently Cain just had his five year anniversary without a recurrence several weeks ago. Looks like they are using a five year anniversary without a recurrence to declare Cain "cancer free".

Perhaps that's what they do with colon cancer and some other cancers. With breast cancer, as I have witnessed with a family member, that's not the case. Just as many recurrences occur after five years.

Back to Stage IV colon cancer, the statistics show that only about 5% of such cancer patients survive past the 5 year anniversary. One website describes Stage IV colon cancer this way. "Unfortunately, there have been very few cases of people who have lived more than 5 years with stage 4 of this disease."

I would describe Cain's survival past five years of Stage IV colon cancer as absolutely incredible.

More on the sematics of cancer and whether one should be called "cured" at a certain point in time. Some doctors declare patients cured or free of cancer while others don't given the same situation.

It’s an uneven playing field - we both know this. A GOP candidate basically needs to be bulletproof because the media will be looking for any chink in the armor they can find. If you get Obama off the prompter, he sounds like a blabbering idiot - uhhhh, ummm, let me be clear, make no mistake, uhhhh, but they write how smart and measured he is. I don’t know if there’s a bigger idiot in the senate than Barbara Boxer, but they would figure out a flattering way to portray her too.

Palin put some blood in the water with that Couric interview, affording the media the opportunity to caricature her in a way she hasn’t been able to shake. It doesn’t help that the media has been savaging her at every turn, but have you see her numbers among independents? They’re terrible, and unfortunately, we need them to win, as we do every election.

I’m not saying we need to elect a RINO - I think a strident fire-breathing conservative can win over independents, but he/she needs to be able to articulate his/her principles in a persuasive way to win over the squishes. I don’t think that’s her. This matchup would be Harry Reid/Sharron Angle II, only Obama won’t be as unpopular as Reid come election day.

I’m not sure it matters for her anyway because it sounds like Bachmann is running, and they will cannibalize each other in Iowa.
