The Archbishop of York has given his backing to Prince William and Kate Middletons decision to live together before marriage.
The Archbishop of York backed Prince William and Kate Middletons decision to live together before marriage, saying that many modern couples want to test the milk before they buy the cow.
Dr John Sentamu argued that the royal couples public commitment to live their lives together today would be more important than their past.
But Anglican traditionalists criticised the Archbishop, the second most senior cleric in the Church of England, for failing to reinforce Christian teaching which prohibits sex outside marriage.
The row came as Prince William and Kate Middleton unveiled their choices for the royal wedding service, which include classically British music and hymns, and an updated choice of marriage vows in which the bride omits the word obey.
In a television interview, Dr Sentamu was asked whether it was appropriate for the Prince, who is in line to become head of the Church of England as King, to have been living with his bride before marriage.
He said he had conducted wedding services for many cohabiting couples during his time as a vicar in south London.
We are living at a time where some people, as my daughter used to say, they want to test whether the milk is good before they buy the cow, he said. For some people thats where their journeys are.

you don’t get it you really don’t you keep harping on about the truth.
The truth to who ? YOU and your mind, you seem to be unable to grasp a simple concept of people having different views.
As for people being liberals because they do not go with YOUR VIEW then sort it out hey.
There are many conservatives on here which would think a lot about you and how you have been on your posts .
You think couples who you do not know should live by YOUR VIEWS, well we don’t and if you do not like that then tough but I suggest you look at your own faith and understand the problems of homosexuals touching little boys before you push your views onto people who do not have your faith
I’ve lived with women and it did not work out I lived with now my wife and it’s worked for all these years.
While that might not fit some peoples way of life it fitted ours what IO have a problem with is those who think ALL people should live by their faith not their own faith .
I’m not talking about you so please do not think I was
So you think a parent should recommend to his daughter that she have sex outside of marriage?
The is the anti-Catholic equivalent of the Race Card.

Oh, how dare I “keep harping on about the truth.” No, no, no, we can’t have that now can we?
“The truth to who ? YOU and your mind, you seem to be unable to grasp a simple concept of people having different views.”
People have different views - and that doesn’t change the truth one bit.
“As for people being liberals because they do not go with YOUR VIEW then sort it out hey.”
Where did I ever claim that people are “liberals because they do not go with [my] VIEW”? Relativists are liberal. Your own words affirm what you are.
“There are many conservatives on here which would think a lot about you and how you have been on your posts .”
So? Are you again claiming that truth is a popularity contest?
“You think couples who you do not know should live by YOUR VIEWS,”
No, I never claimed that. Not even once. What I said was that cohabitation is wrong. I never said anything about my own views as being a guideline. Truth matters more than personal opinions or views.
“well we dont and if you do not like that then tough but I suggest you look at your own faith and understand the problems of homosexuals touching little boys before you push your views onto people who do not have your faith”
And I suggest you at least try to find out what a logical argument is. I have no idea why you keep bring up homosexuals and child molestation. Perhaps it is a favorite topic of yours. But it is wrong. So is cohabitation. The one being wrong doesn’t make the other right. Acting like a liberal and resorting to what really seem to be emotionally driven rejoinders doesn’t make up for your lack of an argument.
in your view, what can you not understand about that?
HUH, WOW, saying the Catholic church has a problem with homosexuals touching little boys is the race card, WOW JUST WOW and another thing, should a 29 year old woman have sex before marriage you asked, well she is 29 and an adult.
I bet you don’t have a daughter do you, infact no kids and if you do then do you talk about her vagina like you have on here.
I hope not

Truth is more important than personal views.
bring it up because your so concerned about others live and who you do not know and does not even affect you but you ignore your own problems or do you?
You really do not get it do you, you really think everyone should live by your rules don’t you?
LOL IT’S your personal views and truth is in the eye of the beholder something you seem to not grasp
My comments on this forum are speaking to general principles. I am reserving tales of my family's dirty laundry for my appearance on the Jerry Springer Show.
“You have your way. I have my way. As for the right way, the correct way, and the only way, it does not exist.” — Nietzsche, who is dead.
“I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life” Jesus Christ, who is alive
One must take sides I guess.
LOL, Jerry Springer now if there were nuts about then that is where you would find them.
Infact he’s a nut too, which is most amazing that people voted for that buffoon once.
good post, I had not read that comment before, thank you
good post, I had not read that comment before, thank you.
Do you mind if I use that at some time?

You seem to be imagining quite a bit. Where did I express that I was “so concerned about others live”?
“and who you do not know and does not even affect you but you ignore your own problems or do you?”
I am not ignoring anything that is relevant. The price of tea in China is not relevant. Neither is whether or not I have children. Neither is relevant whether or not some priests molested children. That might be relevant is William was Fr. Windsor and Kate was an 11 year old. Otherwise the two issues have absolutely nothing to do with one another.
What you’re doing is the same thing liberal blacks do when they hear whites discuss certain issues: “You’re not black so you can’t talk about this.” Or feminists, “You’re a man so you have nothing to say about abortion.” Only what you’re saying is even more bizarre. You’re actually claiming that because the Catholic Church had some abusive priests no Catholic anywhere in the world or for al time can say anything about any moral issue that seems to go against the pop culture view. This would be like saying, “Because some American soldiers committed crimes in Iraq, no American anywhere, ever, has the right to support the war on terror.”
“You really do not get it do you, you really think everyone should live by your rules dont you?”
Are there any rules you think everyone should live by? How about the Ten Commandments?
I agree. I had not followed them much and had no idea they were shacking up. William must have had a hard time making up his mind whether or not to marry Kate.

Thus spoke the relativist liberal.
You’re right. It’s much like reading Paul Johnson’s The Intellectuals. He exposes them for the hypocritical, self-serving, truth denying, sexual thrill seekers they were.
what if people do not have your religion like so many on here, should they still live how you want them too and if they do not then they have to have you harping on .
Do not judge others until you have walked in their shoes.
Also does it not state in your religion about loving others, respecting others love sinner etc?
