The incredible recovery of a French man, who walked the Santiago de Compostela pilgrimage route in Spain after being cured of a paralysed left leg following a trip to Lourdes is being examined as a possible 68th miracle of the shrine
Serge Francois, a TV repair worker said he felt a warm glow spread down his herniated leg during a visit to Lourdes in 2002.
After having prayed at the Lourdes Grotto (above) Mr Francois reported the healing to the international Medical Committee of Lourdes (CMIL) and 20 doctors have agreed on the remarkable nature of the healing.
In the name of the Church, I publicly recognise the remarkable character of the healing from which Serge Francois benefited at Lourdes on April 12, 2002,” said Bishop Emmanuel Delmas of Angers in western France, where Francois lives. This healing can be considered a personal gift from God to man, as an event of grace, as a sign of Christ the Saviour.
Bishop Delmas said Mr Francois case would now be examined further before it is officially recorded as the 68th miracle of Lourdes.
He said that because of advances in medical science it was becoming increasingly difficult to officially class a remarkable healing as a miracle.
Your post seems to be saying that ongoing devotion at the shrine of Lourdes does not presently "advance the faith." That does not make any sense to me. Indeed, there is no reason that magnificent miracles of the previous scale need to appear there now, but there was no absolute requirement for that in the first place, either. God need not have worked through an apparition at Lourdes, or anywhere else.
I believe.
Very next day! Thanks for the prayers.
who cares?
its all just babble.
I just posted something to go along with the message that Verdugo will now not be allowed in Catholic Caucus threads.
But no one seems to care perhaps you all are just vested in your little tit-for-tat arguments.
I’m sorry, I don’t understand your point, RBIEL2. In my post #21, I politely (I believe) opened a discussion with Mr. (or Ms.) Beeline regarding the article’s topic. Of course, if he or she chooses not to elaborate, I will move on. It’s not truly important, just a passing thought.
Eventually, I will have to deal with the child who is screaming because he didn’t get “second lunch,” having failed to complete his handwriting assignment, and the child who has the radio turned up to Deafening in order to drown out the first child.
I fully appreciate your statement because I have walked away in the past for long stretches of time. Each time, there were excuses but no real argument and, like you, I felt my faith was strong. Both times, however, I was drawn back by an unexpected invitation. The first was from a young boy preparing to make his Confirmation. He asked me to be his sponsor. I was caught off guard and could not say no to his sincere request. Stepping into the church that day, I was quickly drawn into the Mass. It was as though I were being fed and I did not want it to end. When the bishop spoke, it was as though he were speaking to me. I left so refreshed and determined to return the following Sunday.
Today, I am extending the same invitation to you. Whatever your reasons for stepping away, do not matter. Please consider the invitation and visit the following site. I will add you to my daily prayer list. Rest assured that our Lord is there, waiting for you, with open arms.
Thanks
I appreciate the thought!
