Written by a local ex-Mormon Christian friend of mine:
This is the Christ of Mormonism:
1. He lives as a humanoid god on a star near Kolob along with his father god, bound by the physical world; he does not transcend the material.
2. He is the brother of satan.
3. He had to earn his own salvation while he was on earth.
4. He offers his grace only to those who work hard enough.
5. He is not from everlasting to everlasting, but was created a finite time ago by his father god, who in turn was also created by his own father god, who in turn was created by his own father god, so on and so forth
6. He is not the greatest being possible.
7. He is finite.
8. His blood is not powerful enough to wipe away any sin.
9. He aided his father in creating earth by organizing already existing matter; he is not capable of creating things out of nothing.
10. He must submit to a moral law that existed before he did.
11. You can one day become just like him.
This is the Christ of the Bible:
1. He is a spirit being that transcends space and time.
2. He is the brother of no creature; He is God, from everlasting to everlasting. No one can claim kinship with Him except those He purchased for Himself on the cross. And He is not the same type of creature they are. He is not a creature, He is God.
3. Jesus is the Author of Salvation; to say that He needed to earn His salvation is absurdity.
4. He offers His sovereign grace to whomever He sovereignly chooses; we are all tainted by sin and vile in His holy eyes. Therefore, no one is more worthy than any other human being. Thus, His grace that He offers is given unconditionally. His grace is true grace, a beautiful gift.
5. He is from everlasting to everlasting. He was never created, and Has been in relationship with the Father and the Holy Spirit forever.
6. He is the greatest being possible, the Most High God. There is no one like Him and there is no one who will ever be anything like Him.
7. He is infinite, both in essence and in His divine perfections.
8. His blood is powerful enough to wipe away any sin, regardless of heinousness and duration. The only sin that cannot be forgive is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost; and this is not because the blood of Christ is not powerful enough to wash it away, but because God has so sovereignly decreed that all persons who blaspheme the Holy Ghost should not receive forgiveness.
9. He created everything that exists out of nothing by the mere word of His mouth.
10. There is no external law that He submits to; He is the Author and the Source of the Law.
11. No one can ever come near to obtaining the glory and excellency of Christ.
I never said the holy spirit is a man. You claim him as a person of the trinity...not me. heresy!
And before the Son of God was a man, He was was indeed the Son of God from eternity past.
And where is that scripture in the OT? uh-huh...doesnt exist.
Who "divides" Him? (YOU do) Your juvenile mathematical formula for imposing your view upon the Trinity is 1 ÷ 3 = 1/3rd. Some Jews think it to be 1+1+1 = 3.
When did I give you a formula? I didnt. I quoted christian doctrine. I know full well you dont believe in 1/3rd gods but your "math" is way off base. 1 x 1 x 1 = 1 is not a picture of your god. A) it accounts for no difference of persons and B) It doesnt account for the FACT that you throw humanity into the godhead as well. You cant use a logical expression to describe something logically flawed as the trinity. one substance, with three different persons different but the same is not logical.
You teach that Jesus is a god-man. 100% man and 100% god. This hypostatic union did not stop (according to christian doctrine) when Jesus died and went to be with the father. So, you not only have god in three persons, but one of the three is also man. So, your 1 x1 x1 thing doesnt work does it. At a bare minimum you have a 3-in-1 god + man. Heresy!
There is NOT ONE scripture that says G-d shares his nature 100% with man 100%. Heresy!
There is NOT ONE scripture that says G-d shares his nature 100% with man 100%. Heresy!

Well yes there are...
more than one...
all mormon scriptures...
If this upsets you attack the mormons for THEIR heretical scriptures...
Its a mormon doctrine, not a Christian one...,
Christianity says God is Spirit...
Mormonism says the mormon god is a man who worked his way up to god....
and his human son the mormon jesus did the same...
Plus his dad, grandpa, etc all started out as human and worked up to gods also...
all with human Moms..(mother gods)
They got good enough...
Furthermore, Answer this question:
Is Jesus in the godhead?
Mormons: Yes
Christians: Yes
Jewish: No
Do you want to share that kind of doctrine with them?
Yes, of course it has occured to me. I can tell you they didnt know the scriptures though. Have you ever investigated the errors in the book of Matthew? They are astonishing. The other gospels as well have tons of scriptural errors. And Paul? I dont want to offend you but if he was a student of Gamaliel, he had something wrong with his brain when he had that seizure on the way to damascus. His reasoning is very poor and not Pharaiscal at all.
You are Johnny come lately that has set yourself up as the last word on OT monotheism.
Not at all. I can read the scriptures for myself. I know Hebrew and I know the reasoning of my forefathers going back 2500+ years. The scriptures, in Hebrew are different than in English at key passages. The English spins the interpretation as christological, the Hebrew scripture do not. In context, it is easy to see the Hebrew is the correct interpretation.
Your God is ensconsed afar off in his unique oneness, with no transcendence of himself to mankind.
I am glad you said that. Nothing could be further from the truth! I have and enjoy a personal relationship with HaShem (YHVH) the G-d of the universe. He is my Father, Friend, Master, King, Creator. I dont need a god-man hybrid mediator! When I pray, I am plugged in directly! No where in scripture, (OT) does it say we need a mediator...that has never been a part of G-ds plan.
What you cant see, and what your fellow Christian Jews of the early church did see, is that the Messiahs name, Immanuel, really did mean God with us. This unique and far-distant-from-man God of Judaism (that you espouse) closed the distance by becoming with us. Mattthew, your fellow Jew, understood Isa. 7:14 aright, the Messiah was the Son of God born of a virgin, Immanuel, God with us.
Not at all. No Jew has ever interpreted Isaiah 7:14 as messianic! Then or Now! Isaiah &:14 is a prophecy that was fulfilled at the time of King Ahaz. It has nothing to do with a messiah.
The word in the passage in Hebrew is HaAlma, which means "the young woman" not virgin! And the sign given, was not the birth of the child, or his name, but the age of the child! When he became old enough to discern right from wrong two enemy kings would be killed. What good would a sign be to King Ahaz of a birth that wouldnt take place for 700 years in the future? None!
Furthermore, Jesus was never named Immanuel, his Jewish name was Joshua. And it matters not that Immanuel means G-d-with-us. Many many Jewish names have G-d as part of the name, it is not unusual at all.
this remote God of yours, totally remote from mankind, became identified with suffering mankind, he became with us.
Ask Abraham if He was remote...Issac, Jacob, Moses, Hezekiah, David, Solomon, Isaiah, Ruth, Jeremiah, Jonah, All the characters of the "OT". Do you think they thought G-d was remote? That is absurd. You dont think G-d can understand us or get near us without becoming a man? Thats absurd! He made us! He knows our every thought! He knows every hair on our head! But somehow Christians feel the need to make him into a man. Even though G-d tells us again and again, I HAVE NO FORM (Deut 4:15)
15 You saw no form of any kind the day the LORD spoke to you at Horeb out of the fire. Therefore watch yourselves very carefully, 16 so that you do not become corrupt and make for yourselves an idol, an image of any shape, whether formed like a man or a woman,
So what do Christians do? They make god into a god-man Jesus, which is an image...formed like a man.
Exactly what G-d forbids.
That is a tick over simplified don’t you think...
you should watch the bible vs.the book of mormon
Ah...
Wrong question!
Do THEY want to 'share' parts of CHRISTIANIY?
(We all know the answer to THIS one!)
MORMONs turn god into TWO men!
I was watching this video, when my six year old grandson came over and said, “hey what are watching?”. I let him watch for a few minutes and he said “these people are nuts, why don’t they just know and love God”. Weird”. Then he went out side to play.
The lds jesus is a progressed guy.
lds do have a godhead (singular), the have a godShead (multiple)
I just love sci fi movies but I always eat pop corn when I do. If I keep watching these lds sci fi movies I’ll blow up like a ballon. So I am going to stop, it’s just to hard to eat pop corn while laughing.
