A lesser-known LDS principle prominently taught in the early years of Mormonism but still affirmed today is the “blood atonement” doctrine which states that there are “serious sins for which the cleansing of Christ does not operate and the law of God is that men must then have their own blood shed to atone for their sins.”— Yeah; this is what I just referred to.

It is apparent that Mark Twain really read of BOM: "Chloroform in print"; "drop 'and it came to pass' and the BOM would be a pamphlet". It is one of the most tedious books I have ever read.

In the realm of Christian scholarly activity, such reduction is just white noise leaking in from the worldly. Mormon use of the premise for Mormon consumption only resonates in the FARMS/FAIR/SHIELDS/BYU echo chamber. No Christian pays any attention, no Christian scholarly work sites such ravings.
