The cardinal doctrines of the everlasting gospel which Arminians wrest to their own destruction are:
(i) THE SOVEREIGNTY OF GOD IN HIS GRACE;
Cautions Against a Wrong Use of the Doctrine of Election
(ii) TOTAL DEPRAVITY;
(iii) EFFECTUAL CALLING;
Saving Faith
Man's Inability and Responsibility
(iv) THE ATONEMENT; The Universal Call of the Gospel and a Definite Atonement The Sinner's Warrant to Believe in Christ
(v) THE PERSEVERANCE OF THE SAINTS.
The Need for an Uncompromising and Vigilant Witness Against Arminianism
Arminianism was the false gospel of John Wesley and his followers in the eighteenth century, and of D. L. Moody in the nineteenth. It is the stock-in-trade of well nigh all the popular evangelists of this century from Billy Graham downwards. The gospel halls of the Brethren, Open and Closed, are nurseries of Arminianism. The active agents of the Faith Mission and the Salvation Army, notwithstanding the moral and social results to the credit of the latter, spread the plague on every side. All the sects which have sprung up in these latter times, however divergent in their doctrines and practices -- Jehovah's Witnesses, Seventh Day Adventists, Pentecostalists, Mormons, Christadelphians, Cooneyites, etc., etc., have all in common, the fatal lie of free-willism. It is Satan's sovereign drug, which causes the soul to sleep in delusion, and the end of such delusion is death. "Free will," says Spurgeon, "has carried many souls to hell but never a soul to heaven."

Classic TULIP Calvinism. For the other side, listen to a few of the audio audio mp3 files of Steve Gregg debates at www.thenarrowpath.com or theos.org/media
OK, if I had to bet my marbles on which side is right, I’d go with the Calvinist position (am an elder in a Presbyterian church, after all), but I think that flogging this dispute, especially to many who don’t understand the tricky philosophical scaffolding involved, does more to harm Christ’s church than to help it. It gets into disputes between Catholic and other Christian denominations, too.
Just like the Catholics’ silly claim that they assembled the Bible (implying that there were Protestants around somewhere back then, boycotting the proceedings), this just fans the flames of division and weakens the Church. Is this the time to encourage fights among us — while so many on Earth are trying to weaken us?
Give it a rest!
Agreed.
Too much hogwash to refute line by line.

Or in the words of Jesus:
“And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.”
Evangelism to TULIP Calvinists amounts to seeking people out to help them determine if God has predestined them to salvation or damnation.
In other words, people are either going to heaven and there is nothing they can do about it, or they are going to hell and there is nothing they can do about it.
Yes, Calvinism, which describes Christianity very well. Arminianism is a sin against scripture and we know what happens to persons who follow this sin.
As an elder you should then be concerned about telling the truth. Arminianism is a lie and denies the very fundamentals of scripture. It is no better in my eyes than Islam or the RCC or Mormons or babbling Pentecostals.
Brother, I believe that Jesus cares more about whether we do what he said to do (see Sermon on the Mount), rather than theological trivia.
A good refutation of the OPC position
