Did anyone catch Glenn Beck's show yesterday about the 12th Imam?
I just wanted to know what you all think about Glenn's comparison of the bible's description of the coming of the anti christ and the muslim's focus on increasing chaos to bring back the 12th Imam?
I wonder who did his research...
Maybe that's because his show isn't a religious show so not always religious topics.
I didnt say they werent religious...
I just said they werent Christian...
Joseph Smith truly wanted to be the 12th Imam.
Mohammed was his hero.
He wanted the BOM to be an “al Koran” for the Western Hemisphere.
See post #19. Watch it. I understand you have issues with him being a Mormon but let’s just say hypothetically that what he said is true. Do you ignore the message based on a person’s religion? Have you heard this comparison at your church?! From the Pope? Sometimes the truth may come from someone you don’t expect. IMHO
It’s Joel Rosenberg.
I didnt say that beck doesnt say something true now and again...
I just said he was not the first to say whatever it was...
He copies other people...
Beck is not riding in on a white horse...
My faith (Lutheran) teaches that the book of Revelation is apocalyptic literature, not a presentation of concrete things that will happen. The creatures and numbers are symbolic and are to be understood by believers, but remain a mystery to others. We believe we have been in end times since Christ returned to heaven. He will come back again - but only once, not twice like those following Reformed theology believe.
With that background said, I believe the Antichrist (Satan) is always present and a force to be dealt with in then life of a Christian. The forms he takes can be any false god you choose. Some Muslims have chosen to worship the 12th Imam, a false god and therefore a Satanic entity. So yes, the 12th Imam is of the Antichrist.
I think it is very important that we not only understand our own faiths, but that we understand the faith of those in opposition to us. We must understand who the Twelvers think this being is and all the mythology around it so we can understand and predict their behavior.
I saw it, I’m convinced he’s right on, Glenn is taking big risks pointing this out, my the Good Lord protect him.
Great! Thx!
As a Mormon my thoughts are thus:
The belief by some (okay many) Mormons that the Catholic Church is the “Great and Abominable Church” put into print in McConkie “Mormon Doctrine” has never sat right with me.
I know plenty of Catholics that are without a doubt Christian. I don’t look at churches themselves, I look at people. The physical church or designated denomination is less important to HIM than where your heart and spirit are.
There are many self professed “Christians” that by their deeds and actions aren’t Christian, and many “non-Christians” including Catholics, Protestants, and (gasp) Mormons, who very much are Christian. But that is a different topic.
Over the years I’ve grown more and more into the belief that the Great and Abominable Church, the Church of the Devil, is Islam.
Doing my own research, and praying, about the 12th Imam I found pretty much the same things Glenn said on his show.
I can pretty much say without hesitation that the 12thm Imam, the Mahdi, is the Anti-Christ and that Islam is the Church of the Devil.
Anyone that would support Islam risks being counted in their number when the day of reckoning arrives.
From what I’ve seen of Glenn Beck, he believes the Bible before the Book of Mormon, and turns to it for answers instead of the Mormon church. I’ve known a lot of people who are married into Mormonism, but get their beliefs from the Bible, even though this is NOT the church’s policy. Mormon leaders openly believe that the Bible has been corrupted. Hence the need for Joseph Smith’s “corrected” version.
He gave the name of the person he asked to do the research for him....he referred to him as his chief researcher and a paid employee who does his research on the side while he works as a layer, I believe. Obviously the researcher knew Beck would use the information.
“I can’t abide a view or listen to that dumbass.”
Your loss!
Joel Rosenberg is a different person IIRC...this guest is Richardson (which name is a pen name I understand).
I’ve seen that with him also.
I watched his conversion video and he made a comment, though slight, that he was willing to “drink the koolaid” to stay in the faith. I believe he did this because of his alcoholic background. But, I can’t be sure because I don’t know what’s in his heart.
So, then do you think the false prophet could have been Mohammed?
