I have yet to see a female pastor in any denomination that was effective.

The dietary laws made a lot of sense in a hot climate with no refrigeration and not much means of keeping food safely preserved.

Pork spoils easily, and you need to be careful about this to prevent getting worms or worse.

Sea-food also spoils easily.

That's how I read it at least. And the permission to eat locusts is to prevent them swarming perhaps? Eat 'em before they eat the crops!

What about Joyce Meyers? Also, the thing is women deacons — ok or not ok?

What does that have to do with the Spirit being poured out upon all flesh or “people”?

I’ll give you another verse “Where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is Liberty!”

The ancient Hebrews were given dietary restrictions in part to keep them healthy on their trek to the promised land and in their establishment of themselves as a people and nation. In the new Testament these restrictions were not placed upon new believers and gentiles as the Laws of Moses had been fullfilled in the person of Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit would “INDWELL” believers regenerating them(God’s Operating System version 7) in the Image of Christ and his fullfillment of the laws of Moses and the prophets.

As Christ stated....”What a man takes in goes out through his digestive processes(thru the draught per KJV),,,there-fore it is not what goes into him that corrupts him but what comes out of him”. (he was speaking spiritually in the sense that we are surrounded by evils of the world and we perceive and take in all sorts of ideas, sensations, textures, foods...ect but if what we “put out” is good behaviour, Godly humility, love of purity, Love of God and a teachable spirit...then we are not corrupted despite the corruptions all around us)!

Locust...full of complete protein amino complexes needed for human sustanance. Jon the Baptist got on rather well with them...roasted with honey. A rather crunchy trail mix as it were. I imagine the Baptist might have had a few other trifles from time to time and certainly he would have needed water.....but honey and locusts; that was the ticket!

"prophecy" - means quite clearly, teach

Only to a liberal who doesn't believe in the power of God.

I have been in the PCA since my born again experience in 1984 and never seen female deacons. That doesn't mean it's impossible but I've not seen or heard of it.

Though, doesn’t the PCA have women deacons?

Not officially. The PCA Book of Church Order forbids the ordination of female officers (elders and deacons). Some PCA congregations have women who function in a non-ordained position of “deacon” (or deaconess). These congregations appear to be walking a thin line between what is officially sanctioned and what is not.

Also, the PCA BCO also has a provision whereby the Session (council of elders) may appoint godly men and women to assist the deacons in the mercy ministry within the congregation. These individual are not ordained, have no official title, and do not participate in the church’s diaconate. A few of the churches who have female “deacons” use this provision of the BCO to the end of legitimizing non-ordained female “deacons.”

Thank you for the comment. The command is a general one due to the nature of the woman, since Adam was formed first, and the woman is more vulnerable to deception.(1Tim.2:13-14) That hasn't changed.

Joel is referring the end times, during the end of the Tribulation and the coming of the Lord to set up the Millennial Kingdom

'And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call upon the Lord shall be delivered: for in mount Zion and in Jerusalem shall be deliverance, as the Lord hath said, and in the remnant whom the Lord shall call' (Joel 2:32) This is an end time event, not a church age one since clearly vs.31 hasen't happened yet.

Clear scripture for the church age is 1Tim.2:11-15, which is explaining good order in the local church.

I hope all is well with you and your family.

Rev911: "prophecy" - means quite clearly, teach

Ainhigh: Only to a liberal who doesn't believe in the power of God.

oh please - your arrogance astounds

Original Word: προφητεία, ας, ἡ Part of Speech: Noun, Feminine Transliteration: prophéteia Phonetic Spelling: (prof-ay-ti'-ah) Short Definition: prophecy Definition: prophecy, prophesying; the gift of communicating and enforcing revealed truth.

Gee Lassie, you mean "truth" like the Bible?

"woof, woof"

spend much time in seminary? or pretend to know one at church?

Id clearly disagree in that the verse is Pauls coloring of protocol, given the "i" AND the context in which he was raised.

v11 "she" is often translated as "wife" - v12 "man" is also translated as "husband"….in that context, the text is consistent with Scruptural teaching regarding the relationship between husband and wife the verse says nothing with regards to the church age, rather, inflects Pauls preferences upon worship he deems satisfactory in Gods eye…Paul does this in numerous places That said, Look at Joel as you say….Joel - v31 "The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood " ….sooooo weve never had an eclipse or a harvest moon?

…..and here the discussion turns to our millenial position

and in my millenial position of the end times - the verse i originally cited is "permission" if you will, for the woman to "prophecy"

great chatting with you again
