To put a child through 15,000 hours of Godless, Christless, Holy Spiritless, no-Bible, non-Christian education (K through 12) is sin and ignores what has been said by many of the greatest teachers of the Reformed faith. A Godless education is not bringing children up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. Such an education is not for the glory of God (1 Corinthians 10:31) or which we are commanded to do everything. ...
Here's a link to the rest of this page, rich in quotes from such luminaries as
You always have to take two Baptists fishing with you.
If you take only one, he’ll drink all your beer.
Baptist couples do not have sex standing up because it could lead to dancing.
Science: to presume there is no God, and then to try to plumb the nature of the cosmos results in theory that displays the limits of our own minds rather than reality. Results like “big bang” offer no information about beginnings or endings or even if there are beginnings or endings. Or the primordial chemical soup struck by lightning and voila! - life! As if that actually answers any questions, it just leads to more assumptions (why are the assumptions of atheism better than theism? They both are assumptions and have their own justifications, none "testable" by scientific means.) - which is why philosophers wear long robes that cover their feet - they don't want you to see that they're not really standing on a solid foundation; like their ideas they're just floating on air. Or take environmental science - secular assumptions are that the way things are is "natural". Christians know that the world is "turned upside down", not in a natural state but a fallen state; cursed by death and all that brings - to Christians the "natural" world was that which existed before the Fall and cursing. So to make assumptions of what is "natural" is a matter of Faith.
Economics: As in history, God's sovereignty cannot be left out if one is to grasp the true nature of things. True wealth and blessing without sorrow are from God Who gives as He will. "Blessed is the nation whose God is The Lord". But what does a secular economist come up with? Communism/Socialism - an economy of mass production requiring mass consumption (including food, which is the why of obesity?). Secularists postulate a world of limited good in a cosmos of entropy. Like a fire, eventually the fuel and air are consumed leaving only ashes. That sounds like our cycles of boom and bust, not to mention what we're left with by socialists.
But with God not so, He upholds all things by the power of His Word - including whatever nations He chooses to bless with prosperity.
There is just no excuse to leave God out of our education. But that is the trajectory of history as shown by the Bible.
Ah, equating the Christian Faithful to Islamist Shariah Fundamentalists...
How original.
You know, that might be a good idea for missionaries in post-Islamic cultures. Offer Christian education using culturally-aware settings. After all, if Roman Christians could hijack Saturnalia, should we not view the traditions of other societies as ripe for pillage and re-purposing?
The madrasah, FWIW, shuts down cognitive processing by focusing on rote repetition of an incoherent "sacred" text in a foreign language. Christian education opens the mind by giving the scholar the tools for learning, for organizing, sorting, and working with information. Secular humanism offers a file drawer with one category, Miscellaneous.
Finally, give thought to the possibility that public education is incredibly successful at achieving its real purpose -- creating docile cannon fodder and factory hands to be used as resources by Caesar, and his minions, the banksters. Google John Taylor Gatto, and read his book The Underground History of American Education. Those who opt out, home school families, are raising millions of smart, personable, and competent children on their own dime. Kids who typically score in the top 20th percentile in academic and social metrics.
America has a bright future, since so many are repudiating the cult of Caesar, and its priestly caste.
You should teach your child to say that the Jews didn’t kill Jesus, but that SIN did.
Oh, so I slur people by recounting what actions some people took....
That reminds me of Ketchup Boy crying about smears when people read off his voting record and quoted statements.
Think about it. If parents arent concerned that their children are getting proper instruction in either the home or school setting their not that concerned with spiritual matters. Not being concerned with the education they get concerning spiritual matters is an indication that their personal relationship with Christ is non existent. Its just one more indication that most people in this nation belong to a church for some other reason then a personal relationship with Jesus.
Forcing, coercing, or putting guilt trips on people to follow the outward trappings doesnt save anyone. Like Islam, there are too many so called Christians who think that by somehow creating some sort of Theonomy or Theocracy this country or the world for that matter is going to produce saved people.
Jesus told us often enough that the law or just going through the motions does not save. The problem isnt whether they home school or send to a Christian school. The problem is that that parents themselves are not really saved. If they were and truly had a personal relationship with Christ they would be concerned that their children received education reflecting their beliefs.
“No, what public education has done is exactly what it was intended to do: produce a people that are compliant sheep, unable to think for themselves, dependent on government. In the absence of people who can think for themselves, it’s no surprise that depravity is able to flourish.”
I totally agree, but the PC ways of “tolerance” and “diversity” indoctrinated generations to embrace evil.
It all depends on how one defines "tolerance" and "diversity."
There is nothing wrong with the spirits of tolerance and diversity that allow for the freedoms of religious practice, speech, the press, assembly, and so forth.
There is everything wrong with the spirits of tolerance and diversity when they are taken too far.
Tolerance in its extreme form means that we must say yes to everything and everyone, never mind the obvious contradiction of having to say yes to people who demand that we be intolerant.
Diversity in its perverted form would suggest that we should promote people on the basis of race or sex in order to achieve quotas; this is nothing more than racism or sexism, respectively.
Brilliantly said.
It’s good to see that you reformed finally admit to your legalism. So much for sola scriptura, so much for faith alone. I guess sending my kid to public education is a ticket to hell but blaspheming the body and blood of Christ with federal visionists, theonomist, and hyper-patriarchs is okay.
You recounted specific actions and applied generalized slurs on the Baptists in your town and Boston Catholic boys schools turning out thugs and the girls schools sluts. I am sorry for the experience of your wife and daughters but it does not excuse you generalizing those unacceptable actions upon others of similar faith.
You may choose to justify yourself as you wish. I’ll not stand in your way.
Usually, most of the time, and as a rule, this is a precise statement of the facts -- at least, for the children. The vast majority of evangelical kids jump ship and abandon the faith as soon as they can. OTOH, children of home-school families either "agree with" or, more often, "STRONGLY agree with" the faith of their parents 95% of the time.
Your post suggests a shocking indifference to the facts of the Christian faith, as well as to the eternal welfare of the children of believers.
>> They justify an abnormal state of affairs, rather than summoning God’s people to practical repentance.<<
That statement is blatantly false. It has been my observation that those who have a dispensational view focus more on personal relationship and repentance then the keeping of outward laws that seems to be the focus of the Preterists and Dominionists.
No it doesn’t it recognizes the fact that you in your legalism ignore the mercy, grace, and hope that is found in the cross of Christ and force people back into bondage to the law.
You reformed continue to turn a blind eye to the bad doctrine that infests your churches and point fingers at everyone else who refuse to mold themselves to your theonimic image. You claim you love your children but then let them sit under the guidiance of men that teach justification by faithful obedience. No wonder Roman Catholics snicker at you.
Yes, they are out of luck, and I am not be sarcastic. Look at the retention rates of Jewish children in their faith. Look at the intermarriage rates.
Our nation would be far far far better off if Jewish children received a thoroughly Jewish education, solidly grounded on their Jewish belief, and our nation's founding principles. Absolutely, the children would be better off!
As an active and firmly committed Christian I support Jewish education, and I urge my Jewish friends and neighbors to remove their children from our GODLESS collectivist government schools. Please do this NOW!...So that your children will not be “out of luck”.
If you are Jewish, **please** get your children out of the collectivist government schools. As a Christian I urge you to do this.
By the way, some nitwit is sure to post, “How do you feel about Muslim madrasses?”
Well...Islam in our nation is an **immigration** problem and not an educational problem. We should cease Muslim immigration immediately! Also, the **BEST** defense against Islam is to have a population that is thoroughly committed to its Judeo Christian principles and can intellectually and spiritually defend them.
If we foolishly believe that GODLESS collectivist government schools will prepare our nation's citizens to resist Islam, then the we have already lost the cause.
How sweet it must be to spiral into one's navel, and sit around rejoicing in how pointless your life is. But that's all right, that's OK -- I just feel so good about precious little me! And obviously, nothing else really matters more than how I feel about me.
Yet, Jesus had a few choice words concerning vines that refused to bear fruit. Pointless, barren, lives are not God-empowered, God-honoring, and God-directed lives, no matter how good they feel from the inside.
Better check your crotch, to make sure the boys are still there.
Wow! I must have hit a nerve!
