Fox News host Sean Hannity addressed the controversy surrounding a top Virginia exorcist Catholic priest at the end of his Hannity cable news show Wednesday night and made note of the unusually favorable treatment he has been getting from Huffington Post commenters.
After playing portions of a now-infamous 2007 exchange in which then-Human Life International Father Thomas Euteneuer called Hannity a "heretic" and "cultural Catholic," Hannity read part of Fr. Euteneuer's recent confession to transgressions which caused him to be removed as head of Human Life International.
"I take full responsibility for my own poor judgment, my weakness and my sinful conduct that resulted from it," Hannity read.
The host then noted the priest's admission of violating his vow of chastity due to human weakness, which Fr. Euteneuer said "did not involve the sexual act."
"Bill Clinton would be proud of that," Hannity joked.
"Look, I don't want to make a situation worse. Apparently something happened -- pretty severe -- and he's been taken away from his position," Hannity said.
But Hannity still seemed upset at at having his faith questioned and the priest's conduct after the appearance on Hannity & Colmes.
"He's so self righteous. He spent years raising money off this exchange with me and building his name recognition," Hannity said....
One of the panelists joked that the video clip of his face-off with Rev. Euteneuer had "brought out the inner liberal" in Hannity.
Hannity responded, "That's like the Huffington Post defending me [today]."

Catholic priest!
I’ve never cared for Hannity.
Well then what exactly did it involve?
Do we have the right to know? He isn’t in public ministry anymore. There are many steps short of there, but he admitted his wrongdoing. He wasn’t abusing a child/minor.
The kind of sex that isn’t really sex, according to B.J. Clinton.
Hannity is the product of the “Confraternity of Christian Doctrine” program which muddles the formation of conscience. Notice how Hannity last night argued this sin is not as bad as that sin so I would rather people commit this lesser but serious sin and conveniently left out what he as a Christian is called to do which is to avoid sin and to help others do so as well.
Had Hannity bothered to study the old Baltimore Catechism or the newer Catechism of the Catholic Church, he would know what he said last night on his show is a serious sin in that it is scandalous and induces others to sin and any priest worth his salt would call him aside to discuss the matter and suggest he not present himself to receive the Holy Eucharist.
Perhaps we need to start calling him Mario Hannity and the former governor of New York Sean Cuomo.
Um, you just did what I just criticized Hannity for.
He raised money for HLI! Jeesh Hannity, self righteousness is not something for you to be lecturing anyone about.
So? When someone makes an asinine statement like that it deserves a clarifying followup or a joking denunciation of his LAME equivocation.
So man up and criticize me if you are not man enough to criticize this equivocating charlatan.
Why don’t you read his whole statement before calling him a “charlatan”? And follow the forum rules and not make it personal!
I never said we had the right to know. I was just wondering aloud how one can break one’s vow of chastity without the sexual act being involved.
ALL Catholic priests are sinners. Ordination doesn’t change that.
You have heard that it was said to them of old: Thou shalt not commit adultery. But I say to you, that whosoever shall look on a woman to lust after her, hath already committed adultery with her in his heart.
Sure, sure. That was what it was about. He violated his vow of chasity “in his heart”.
LOL!
Apparently it depends upon what your definition of “is” is.
Hannity has shot himself in the foot. Cheap shot par excellance, from one self rightous narsicist loud mouth against a fallen priest who on at least one occasion was right, when he stated that he would refuse Sean communion. For the life of me I can’t remember what it was, but Father was spot on. Boy was Sean in a huff and has now jumped at the chance to feather his grudge to throw stones at the wounded. At least Father didn’t leave the Church, but instead confessed with contrition and took his consequences.
If that got you bounced from ministry, well, we'd have to shut down all churches.
Hannity doesn’t realize that we all sin but those who love Christ confess and strive to move forward aligning our souls more with Him. Hannity thinks we just choose a sinful life and still call ourselves Christians.
That’s why I said “starters.” Reading comprehension...look it up.
