As we are talking about the newly renovated chapel of the Dominican House of Studies in Washington, D.C., it seemed like a good opportunity to show the glorious main chapel of the same institution.

The pictures above do not do it justice. Highly recommended if you have a chance to stop by when visiting DC. It is just across the street from the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Immaculate Conception.
Wow! Beautiful. I wonder if this was done by Granda, a Spanish church architecture and renovation firm. Go to their website (search on Granda - they have a website in Spanish and English) to see beautiful stuff, ranging from chalices to entire churches. They’re located in Madrid but have an office here in Chicago.
When I was in DC for the Tea Party, I went to the Basilica and I saw a lot of what were obviously very smart and devout young men walking around. Somebody told me that they were Dominicans; I guess this must have been where they came from.

(Note: sorry for the number of pix)
look at #3 for more pix. Don’t know for sure who did the renovation.
These are wonderful. Thank you very, very much.
