Peace will affiliate with the newly formed North American Lutheran Church, made up mostly of former ELCA congregations that want to continue traditional practices, including not allowing unmarried clergy, whether gay or straight, to live in relationships.
Good! Let the apostles of Sodomy see how much money they can raise from the Sodomites welcomed into their ranks.
Yes, I know that we are all sinnners--but let's not "celebrate" it.
Devils Lake Church? Unfortunate name.
I think it is pretty cool. Of course though, even this "oddly named" church can see that the ELCA has far more in common with the Devil by its teachings than this church does with its name.
The ELCA itself has not been around long enough to foster a robust institutional identity and the loyalty of a core body of supporters. As a result, in their rush to pimp themselves out to the homosexual lobby, they have alienated those traditional Christians whose bonds to ELCA were tenuous at best.
Every week now two or three more congregation leave, like clockwork, and the pace is steady after two years. The corporate bosses in Chicago are tearing their hair to keep the money spigot flowing, so they can continue to enjoy globetrotting to international leftwing confabs and such. They now have begun to wheel out the lawyers, like the terminally ill episcopal church, to threaten bully and ultimately sue the departing faithful to strip them of their assets.
Or... they could just try a little "Lutheran Lightning" on the way out! Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust...
Devils Lake was given the name by the Great Northern Railroad and is a misinterpretation of the name of the lake given by the local Indian's, which was supposed to translate to "The Holy One."
Devils Lake - very choppy
Spirit Lake - very calm
Is it only the causeway that produces the effect, or is there another reason?
I asked a fellow about it at the casino there, hoping there would be a nice legend. But no.
