Did fellow Mormons cover up officer's baby molestations?
Idaho Statesman ^ | Dec. 12, 2010 | Patrick Orr

...As many as 15 people who knew...Boise police officer...confessed to molesting babies...face no criminal charges.

...deputies...determined...leaders of...Latter-day Saints congregation that Stephen R. Young attended can’t be charged because of...clergy privilege law.

SNIP

...Young turned himself in...March 2... That was about two months after church officials say they first talked to Young about his crimes.

SNIP

...Ada County prosecutors say...Steve Nelson sexually abused as many as four children over a 30-year period...Nelson confessed to molesting one child to LDS officials, who learned of the crime from the victim but did not report it.

More than 20 years later, Nelson pleaded guilty...In 2009, the woman he...abused as a preteenager...caught him molesting a 3-year-old girl, according to court records.

Before sending Nelson to...prison...Judge Darla Williamson told him: “I...don’t understand...why the church didn’t require that law enforcement be involved with you. Possibly...we would have at least one less victim.”

...Tim Ryan is serving...probation...after pleading guilty...to...sexual abuse...Detectives say...the case...was dropped when the girl’s family wouldn’t cooperate with investigators. About the time the case was dropped, prosecutors said, the girl met with Ryan and an LDS bishop.

The victim told the Idaho Statesman last week that she had to attend a meeting with an LDS bishop and Ryan where she was asked to forgive Ryan....

“...I was really scared...They wanted me to forgive him. I was 14. I was put on the spot. What are you going to say?”

SNIP

...investigators and...prosecutors say Young could have abused as many as 20...victims over a 30-year period... Prosecutors say Young’s victims were infants or babies, 21 months of age or younger...all...family members or children of friends.

SNIP

Young’s wife first mentions...LDS Church in a...journal entry...says Young “was relying on (the bishop). He said (the bishop) made a lot of calls to keep him from going to jail.”...

Bias retorts is no answer!

SELECTIVE scriptures are deceiving...

2 Samuel 12:13-23

13 Then David said to Nathan, “I have sinned against the LORD.”

Nathan replied, “The LORD has taken away your sin. You are not going to die. 14 But because by doing this you have shown utter contempt for[a] the LORD, the son born to you will die.”

15 After Nathan had gone home, the LORD struck the child that Uriah’s wife had borne to David, and he became ill. 16 David pleaded with God for the child. He fasted and spent the nights lying in sackcloth[b] on the ground. 17 The elders of his household stood beside him to get him up from the ground, but he refused, and he would not eat any food with them.

18 On the seventh day the child died. David’s attendants were afraid to tell him that the child was dead, for they thought, “While the child was still living, he wouldn’t listen to us when we spoke to him. How can we now tell him the child is dead? He may do something desperate.”

19 David noticed that his attendants were whispering among themselves, and he realized the child was dead. “Is the child dead?” he asked.

“Yes,” they replied, “he is dead.”

20 Then David got up from the ground. After he had washed, put on lotions and changed his clothes, he went into the house of the LORD and worshiped. Then he went to his own house, and at his request they served him food, and he ate.

21 His attendants asked him, “Why are you acting this way? While the child was alive, you fasted and wept, but now that the child is dead, you get up and eat!”

22 He answered, “While the child was still alive, I fasted and wept. I thought, ‘Who knows? The LORD may be gracious to me and let the child live.’ 23 But now that he is dead, why should I go on fasting? Can I bring him back again? I will go to him, but he will not return to me.”

Golly!

It looks like David's SON will not be with GOD either; if you believe the MORMON teaching that RESTY has just posted!

Evidently MORMONism teachs a person something DIFFERENT than what the BIBLE clearly teaches:

Hebrews 10:1-31

Christ’s Sacrifice Once for All
1 The law is only a shadow of the good things that are coming—not the realities themselves. For this reason it can never, by the same sacrifices repeated endlessly year after year, make perfect those who draw near to worship. 2 Otherwise, would they not have stopped being offered? For the worshipers would have been cleansed once for all, and would no longer have felt guilty for their sins. 3 But those sacrifices are an annual reminder of sins. 4 It is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.

5 Therefore, when Christ came into the world, he said:

“Sacrifice and offering you did not desire,
   but a body you prepared for me;
6 with burnt offerings and sin offerings
   you were not pleased.
7 Then I said, ‘Here I am—it is written about me in the scroll—
I have come to do your will, my God.’”[a]

8 First he said, “Sacrifices and offerings, burnt offerings and sin offerings you did not desire, nor were you pleased with them”—though they were offered in accordance with the law. 9 Then he said, “Here I am, I have come to do your will.” He sets aside the first to establish the second. 10 And by that will, we have been made holy through the sacrifice of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.

11 Day after day every priest stands and performs his religious duties; again and again he offers the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12 But when this priest had offered for all time one sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13 and since that time he waits for his enemies to be made his footstool. 14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy.

15 The Holy Spirit also testifies to us about this. First he says:

16 “This is the covenant I will make with them
after that time, says the Lord.
I will put my laws in their hearts,
and I will write them on their minds.”[b]

 17 Then he adds:

   “Their sins and lawless acts
   I will remember no more.”[c]

18 And where these have been forgiven, sacrifice for sin is no longer necessary.

A Call to Persevere in Faith
19 Therefore, brothers and sisters, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, 20 by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, 21 and since we have a great priest over the house of God, 22 let us draw near to God with a sincere heart and with the full assurance that faith brings, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. 23 Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. 24 And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, 25 not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

26 If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, 27 but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God. 28 Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses. 29 How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace? 30 For we know him who said, “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,”[d] and again, “The Lord will judge his people.”[e] 31 It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

It appears that TRUTH means something different to a well indoctrinated MORMON...

It seems you only like the scriptures when they don’t recriminate you!

Your post appears to have had nothing to do with "scriptures" but only with throwing mud on someone for leaving the mormon church behind and telling the world the truth about mormonism's lies.

Heb. 10: 26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,

Ignoring (at least for the time being) the context of this verse, let's take your wooden interpretation. The context makes your interpretation clearly wrong but let's go with it.

Have you sinned since you have become a Mormon? You don't have to answer that because we all know that you have. (If you deny it, please read 1 John 1:8.) Since you have been enlightened (your words, not ours or God's) with the truth of Mormonism and yet you continue to sin, is there any sacrifice left for your sins? If in your theology, David is excluded from the highest level of exultation by his sin, why aren't you?

Of course, you'll probably insist that you haven't murdered anyone which I'm willing to believe is probably true. ;-) But the Hebrews verse doesn't specify that particular sin but sin in general. Besides Jesus in the Sermon on the Mount equated calling someone a "fool" with murder. We all know that you have done that. So how can anyone (including you) reach the highest level of exultation if your theology is correct and David was excluded on this basis?

BUT...

She claims we ANTIs are her Sisters and Brothers, albeit strayed ones; and we KNOW that she has been ANGRY with us from time to time; therefore:

Matthew 5:22 KJV
But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

So this is what I was trying to relate that by David actions he fell no longer on the path of exaltation.

So you are saying that there is no Grace for David, the man after God's Own heart and David can never become a god? That is what you appear to be saying is the lds view, correct?

LOL, sorry, didn't realize proto-gods were running around loose. That is as long as you have some guy willing to remember to call you through the veil - mormon women cannot progress on their own.

Lucifer aka devil never will die he is an evil god ANGEL.

There, fixed it for ya resty - angels are not gods nor even kin to humans.

I said exaltation is no longer an option for David!

grace is for those in terrestrial and telestial

Those who do believe in Jesus Christ but never were baptized nor strive to keep the Commandments of the Lord.
