Why should a preterist care about scripture when allegory and tradition are so much more satisfying???

THIS is crazy. While I have my own opinion about the temple, the REASON the pretty golden dome should be destroyed is because it is an absolute defilement and an abomination.
I repeat. THIS is crazy.
Evidently, you don’t even believe your own scripture which clearly states that G-d will occupy Jerusalem and nowhere, but nowhere, does it say a darn thing about the Lord living in a pretty church.

according to premillennial interpretation,

Should have been titled "Premil evidence for a future temple".

the pretty golden dome should be destroyed is because it is an absolute defilement and an abomination.

The temple was destroyed once and for all in AD70 by the armies of Rome as prophesied by Jesus. How can a building that was erected centuries later be a “defilement?”

What is an real abomination is those who call for a rebuilt temple with animal sacrifices after the coming of Messiah, the true Lamb of God.

But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God, from that time waiting till His enemies are made His footstool. For by one offering He has perfected forever those who are being sanctified. (Heb. 10:12-14)

Many of the arguments made have been promoted by Muslims for years.

In fact, some of it is right out of their propaganda.

clearly states that G-d will occupy Jerusalem and nowhere, but nowhere, does it say a darn thing about the Lord living in a pretty church.

God does “occupy Jerusalem”, the heavenly Jerusalem.

But you have come to Mount Zion and to the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, to an innumerable company of angels, (Hebrews 12:22)
It is the habitation of the true children of Abraham.
For these are the two covenants: the one from Mount Sinai which gives birth to bondage, which is Hagar-- for this Hagar is Mount Sinai in Arabia, and corresponds to Jerusalem which now is, and is in bondage with her children-- but the Jerusalem above is free, which is the mother of us all. (Galatians 4:24-26)

He who overcomes, I will make him a pillar in the temple of My God, and he shall go out no more. And I will write on him the name of My God and the name of the city of My God, the New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven from My God. And I will write on him My new name. (Revelation 3:12)

Well, first of all, the Dome is very pretty, and would make a nice Church some day.

LOL. Tit for tat -- only fair, given what the Muhamadeans did the the Hagia Sophia.

Why the Dome-of-the-Rock is Better than a Re-Built Temple

Oh, this should be fun.

and tradition

Tradition? You mean like the tradition of the late, AD95 date for the Book of Revelation?

Waste of time and words. Just wait a little longer and then you can eat your words and swallow your theological pride. That assumes you will not merely explain away physical Temple to HaShem and the reigning King Messiah in Jerusalem as mere metaphors...

A bigger question would be, when it all comes to pass, will you love your theology more than the truth of what you can see with your eyes? If the past 60 years is any evidence, there isn't a lot of hope for your theological types.

It’s always interesting to ask, especially of what it says in Hebrews regarding the blood of bulls and goats, why God would need to reestablish animal sacrifice. My best friend and pastor, who is a dispensational, tells me it’s as a “memorial”.

Of course, he will also preach, correctly, that the animal sacrifices under the Old Covenant were a type fulfilled in Christ, the ultimate anti-type.

Maybe if they were to read the text instead of the notes in their Dake’s and Schofield’s ...
