That is what my thoughts were, mighty close together for both knees to be done. I guess it depends on how painful and dibilitating his knee joints are right now.
My father had both knees replaced but the surgerys were a year apart. after each surgery he spent at least two weeks in the hospital rehab section before coming home. I Pray that this surgery is a great sucess.

Yes, they are close together, but I have heard of people having two within a shorter span of time. I guess there are many factors that dictate the best practice. These are not total replacements — more like resurfacing — so I suppose that is a major consideration.
