A recent (11-08-2010) representative sample of 17 civil legal cases from 11 states where plaintiffs or defendants attempted to use Shariah law is provided here. The states for these sample civil cases are Illinois, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Tennessee and Texas. Shariah is frequently encountered in family law cases across the USA today; in Shariah-compliant accommodations that may result in discrimination against non-Muslims; and in Shariah-Compliant Finance on Wall Street and in the U.S. government. “Your Honor, since we use Sharia law in this state it was perfectly permissible for me to cut off my wife’s head” ...
FYI..catch a late rerun of Hardball tonight. Frank Gaffney is on the first segment...he talks about how sharia law is starting to take root in American courts..even the SCOTUS, and just about makes Chrissie’s head explode..well worth watching..
I hear ya James, People just do not think these things through logically. It could actually be worse than that. According to Sharia you have offended Islam and thus I will war against you and take your wife and daughters as sex slaves before I cut off their heads. And if I am judged it will be by Allah and a Sharia court in your own country (which really isn’t your country anymore.
TY Ken for the info,,, I’ll have to look into hardball. I don’t watch much TV, is that a Foxnews program. I need to find this program and get that episode up on my blog
I think Hardball is Chris Matthews’ program ... don’t watch it ... I read about it on Newsbusters (where I heard about FreeRepublic which is why I’m here) ...
We see no distinction in quality between Islamic terrorism and Sharia law: only a distinction in degree.Terrorism By Degrees
Citi was the leader in this. But then, whatever the government doesn't own of Citi is owned by a sheik.
Hi hand, I really like that article. I bookmarked it for later republishing. THANKS
LOL Thank you for the PIC Bean, I saved it and will spread it around. :)
bump.
Welcome to FR Rev. You may find some interesting discussions in the Religion section. Most of us try to be cool with everyone’s religious beliefs. Doesn’t always work though. Conservatives are an independent lot.
Caveat: We are NOT cool with Islam. It is anti-christ.
Thanks ... again, I learned about FR from another site. I’m cool with people. I debate in the arena of ideas (as a well noted talk show host once said ... RL) ...I put out the idea and let others run with it ... I don’t antagonize. I’m like a street preacher if you know what I mean ....no, not wild eyed and bushy faced >grin<
Pretty much the way I approach things. I try to stay out of religious discussions, but I drop words of wisdom when I find an opening. You should do okay. Try to avoid posting a thread until you have been here for a reasonable length of time. If you keep a low profile maybe you won’t be tagged as a troll. LOL. We have some “scouts” who love to “haze” newbies. Pay them no mind. God bless.
Thanks for the heads up ... have to see what the crowd is doing before entering in ...and I’ve been hazed by the best so I’ve a thick skin as well ...take care and God Bless ...
