We recreate Christ’’s sacrafice daily to remind ourselves of the selfless love he holds for all of us, Jesus is More than Good enough, but we are humans with human failings, the church provides us with a union with God in fellowship with others, the salvation he provided us is something we cherish and in works we offer up ourselves to others in order to glorify Him. Christ is God. Mary is his mother. Mary is fully human and as such is a mediator between us and God. We pray to God and Mary.Praying to The Blessed Virgin in NO way diminishes our reverence to our Lord.
Read your Bible.
" For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" -- 1 Timothy 2:5
We are not six years old. We do not require a mother to mediate when the ONLY mediator between God and men is Jesus Christ.
We pray to God and Mary. Praying to The Blessed Virgin in NO way diminishes our reverence to our Lord.
There is NOTHING in the Scriptures that tells us to pray to anyone other than the Triune God ALONE. God alone hears our prayers and God alone answers our prayers.
Every prayer to Mary takes away a prayer rightly due the Lord.
No small error.
How so?....and interesting mentioning you pray to Mary but simply reverance Christ. I should think it wise the other way around.
Hebrews 10:11-18
11 And every priest stands daily at his service, offering repeatedly the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins. 12But when Christ had offered for all time a single sacrifice for sins, he sat down at the right hand of God, 13waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet. 14For by a single offering he has perfected for all time those who are being sanctified.
15And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying,
16 “This is the covenant that I will make with them
after those days, declares the Lord:
I will put my laws on their hearts,
and write them on their minds,”
17then he adds,
“I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more.”
18Where there is forgiveness of these, there is no longer any offering for sin.
Hebrews 6:1-6 1Therefore let us leave the elementary doctrine of Christ and go on to maturity, not laying again a foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God, 2and of instruction about washings, the laying on of hands, the resurrection of the dead, and eternal judgment. 3And this we will do if God permits.
4For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, 5and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, 6and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding him up to contempt.
