Pray for Our American Heroes!
Posted on 10/05/2010 6:40:59 AM PDT by WhatNot

Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Philippians 2:12

Father God, help our American Heroes to put Christ preeminent in their lives, that they may be complete in Him. Help them to live out the life of Christ as they go about all of their duties, that they may have all Your fullness, all of Your mercy, and Your Peace poured out in their daily lives, because they believe in Your Son Jesus. Give to them those things which are from above, that they may know Christ, and the power of His resurrection. The things from above are truth, honesty, justice, and loveliness, give to our American Heroes these things and more.
Also Lord, as they go through this life, protect them from harm and enable them to take off the old garments, and the old man, and put on the new garments, and the new man, and as they do this give to them the divine desire to live in the new man that they put on, walking in Your light and Your love, by the power of Your Holy Spirit.
In Jesus name, we pray Amen.

The Right Help
October 5, 2010
On a recent radio program, the hosts spoke with a crisis management expert about how a celebrity can recover from a public relations disaster. This specialist said one of the keys was to build strong allies who can help the star rehabilitate his or her image. In other words, it is vital when in trouble to get the right help.
That is wise counsel, for at the heart of all crisis management is recognizing that we cant accomplish everything on our own. Some challenges are too big. Some mountains are too high. In our own seasons of crisis, it is critical that we have help. Thats why its comforting to know that we have the strongest ally possible.
King David knew about that ally. In Psalm 18:6, he affirmed, In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried out to my God; He heard my voice from His temple, and my cry came before Him, even to His ears. There is no greater help in our time of need than God. He alone can carry us through the trials and crises of life, and we have His word that He will never leave us nor forsake us (Heb. 13:5).
When crisis hits, we dont have to stand alone. We have the right help. We can depend on God to be the greatest ally we could ever know. Lean on Him.
When a crisis looms before you,
Dont face it on your own;
Seek advice from godly counsel,
And take it to Gods throne. Sper
Our greatest hope here below is to get help from God above.
Read: Psalm 18:6-13
In my distress I called upon the L
ord, and cried out to my God; . . . my cry came before Him, even to His ears.
Psalm 18:6

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND NATION!
THE TWENTY-THIRD PSALM
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for Thou art with me; Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: Thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the LORD for ever."
