The sketches showed a 16-storey building wrapped in a honeycomb of abstract shapes.
The building was compared by some to the Fortress of Solitude, the crystalline headquarters of Superman depicted in comic books.
Others suggested that some of the shapes resembled the Jewish symbol of the Star of David. The company behind the development pointed out that the hexagram is also used in Islam, as the Seal of Solomon, as well as in Christianity and other religions.
Sharif El-Gamal, the developer, said: "We want to have a marriage between Islamic architecture and New York City. We want to do something that is green and cool."

In my head, I see it still standing while all the surrounding buildings are "eliminated".
Regarding the visual design of the facade of the mosque: Yes, there are many Stars of David, and as well, there are pentagons. They are stylized, but definitely there: the "clusters" of very thick framework within the design are all groupings of pentagon shapes.
Also, the "dip" in the roofline has the eye seeing two buildings, and the varying light and darker areas do give the impression of smoke - all this besides the sloped rows of Stars of David.
And hasn't anyone else wondered why these islamists chose this particular view for their news release? Not just looking at the building - the eye is looking UP at an angle at the perceived height - just as were the most familiar photos of the towers of the World Trade Center.
Finally - considering what this building is, and where it is to be - there is not even the smallest possibility of the visual impression being coincidental. And no such "mistakes" would just "happen" to occur. This is so obviously a deliberate islamic victory design that I would venture the further possibility that if each and every one of those tiny-to-large openings, and/or design "lines" were counted, the total would reflect the total number of those slaughtered on 9/11/01.
More like Satans HQ if you ask me. Hopefully patriots on the East Coast will stop construction if need be. It can not be built.
Why the design?
It’s the semblance of the destruction of the Star of David (the Jews).
Why Park 51?
Cordoba House changed its name to Park 51 which is odd since the address of the location is 45 47 Park Place.
Look to the Koran-the book of islamic conquest Qur’an CHAPTER 51, Verses 45-47 explains all:
51:45 And they were unable to arise, nor could they defend themselves. 51:46 And [We destroyed] the people of Noah before; indeed, they were a people defiantly disobedient. 51:47 And the heaven We constructed with strength, and indeed, We are [its] expander.
The numbered Qur’an verses celebrating the Muslim conquests match up to the Park 51: 45-47 address.
