2 Timothy 2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth
2 Timothy 3:1ff This know also, that in the last days perious times shall come, For men shall be lovers of own selves....Having the form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away...Ever learning, and never able to come to the knowledge of the truth.
Many of us who visit this "religion" blog know who Paul has identified as these men who ever learn, but are never able to come to the knowledge of the truth in the Bible, rightly divided.
The Bible..
The Old Testament and the New Testament...
The only Word of God...
The other day, it occurred to me that the Bereans were probably constantly checking into the OT reading the passages which Jesus opened for the two disciples on the Road to Emmaus, when He began explaining from Moses forward(and that means from Genesis forward) the passages about Him. We kind of have something similar in our Red Letter Edition texts, and noting that Red Letter aspect for someone is what tweaked my mind.
Why is it excerpted?
Why doesn’t the link contain the so-called excerpt?
Why is the link to a blog post from May?
Why KJV?
“Are you a thee or a thou?” - Popeye
After locating and reading caucus rules, I would like to withdraw quesion 4 above and ask a couple more to see if I can be a member of the caucus:
1. Is this a caucus for KJV-only? I often refer to the KJV, and most of the verses I have committed to memory are in the KJV. But for everyday study I normally use the NKJV. Am I OK or do I need to go away?
I’m from CT, now living in OK, so I’m working on becoming a “y’all.”
If you had moved to New Jersey would you have become a youze?
Why doesnt the link contain the so-called excerpt? The excerpt is only a freerepublic blog format, not related to the link blog
This caucus is only for KJV Bible study. Other corrupt translations are not recommended to participate, as only KJV Bible Scripture will be utilized. I do not ascribe to the "so called" scholar's corrupt manuscript text corrections. Here is my reason:
If God is Perfect; His Will Perfect; His existence Perfect
And God's Word is Perfect, since His Word is Living, Quick, Sharper than a two-edged sword
Then His Perfect Word must be a reflection of His Perfect Will, Perfect existence, etc.
Since it is impossible for God to lie; scholars are men and can lie all the time, many scholars even deny Christ's deity, so why should I trust a man who denies Christ's deity? I should be a fool to do so!
If God's Word has errors, then God is in error, by the same reasoning, God Forbid!
God is not in error; God's Word is not in error! If these things were true (God Forbid!) then our salvation In Christ would be in danger of void, for who could trust HIS WORD?
Corrupt manuscript text always attempt to show God in error - God Forbid!
I am not a fool to follow the folly of men, e.g., scholars and their corrupt manuscript texts.
Those who promote corrupt manuscript texts will someday answer to the Perfect God, who is Perfect in His Judgment, for HE ALONE knows what HE said better than any man or scholar.
It will be a fearful thing to be a sinner (scholar) in the hands of an angry God!
I look forward to more of your posts. Perhaps you would add me to your ping list, if you have or intend to start one.
I really hope God doesn’t make me find out. (Of course, talk like that usually means it’s time to get ready to move to New Jersey.)
I sure hope not, for your sake. I can’t think of a worse place for y’all to move.
Are you saying there were no translation malfunctions from the Greek New Test to the KJV???
If all versions beside KJV are corrupt, what was the Bible before 1611?
It is clear you have never read nor understood the Preface to the 1611 version of the KJV. The Translators took the time to lay out their thoughts on this new translation. Go get yourself an online copy and read it. I’m sure if you take an honest look at what they say, you will once and for all reject the “KJV Only” false doctrine.
It is one thing to PREFER the KJV for its literal translation philosophy and grammatical beauty; or to desire that all members of the congregation read from the same version during church worship; or to use the KJV for serious memorization of the Bible ... but its quite another to claim that it alone is the Word of God.
Why of course God only gave us one bible version and He took 1600 years after dying on the cross to do it and of course it is only found in english as that is the only people He really wants to have His Word. What nonsense and what a waste of salvation to preach such tripe!
BTW the Holy Spirit is not a ghost.
