The basis for Yom Kippur is found in Leviticus 23:26-28, which states: "God spoke to Moses, saying: 'Mark, the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement. It shall be a sacred occasion for you: you shall practice self-denial, and you shall do no work throughout that day for it is a Day of Atonement, on which expiation is made on your behalf before the Lord your God.'"

Yah'shua, the high Priest has made atonement for the behalf of ALL. Lev 23:28 "You shall not do any work on this same day, for it is a day of atonement, to make atonement on your behalf before YHvH your God.

'Mark, the tenth day of this seventh month is the Day of Atonement Seventh month? I thought Yom Kippur occured on the 10th day of the new year (month 1) - we just had Rosh Hashannah (Tishri 1) -- or am I missing something?
