Conservative surrender on same-sex marriage?
World Net Daily ^ | September 04, 2010 | Joseph Farah

The homosexual press has noticed.

In an enlightening commentary on a homosexual activist blog, we get this observation: "But isn't it something how the issue of marriage equality is slowly starting to tear at the GOP. What a difference a few years make. In 2004, there was nary a Republican that could get behind the issue of marriage equality without looking like a Benedict Arnold. And now? The trend is shifting big time."

And that's really the context needed to understand why WND took the stand it did with Ann Coulter upon her acceptance of the headliner position at GOProud's Homocon event this month.

The conservative movement is nearing surrender on the issue – even while public opinion stands firmly committed against same-sex marriage.

This is the way it works in our political culture.

The people vote and express their will in overwhelming numbers to affirm something as basic as traditional marriage between one man and one woman. Judges assail the process and explain that only bigotry could explain their votes. Election results are overturned. Homosexuals celebrate. Conservatives cave.

Conservatives are simply not freedom fighters, as I have explained many times. In fact, there are some so-called "conservatives" cheering on what they see.

"In time, gay people will be married, extending the valuable social institution of marriage to more people," writes blogger Jon Henke of TheNextRight.com. "In time, conservatives will argue that the positive impact that marriage has on the gay community is further evidence of the importance of the institution of marriage."

The list of conservatives surrendering has been noticed by the homosexual activists, as the homosexual blogger notes: "Ted Olson, Margaret Hoover, Meghan McCain, Glenn Beck, Laura Bush, Steve Schmidt, Cindy McCain, Charlie Baker, Elisabeth Hasselbeck ... it's like each day a new high-profile conservative jumps on the..

My brother-in-law just lost his job for saying something
against homosexuality. Apparently, conservatives are
taboo everywhere.

Next they will be using the phrase “Homosexual Christian” which for sure is a oxymoron, just as the term “pro choice/pro abortion Christian” both also oxymoron's.

I saw a bit on this at PMSNBC, they had on a couple fruitcake Log Cabin guys on talking about it, claiming something was coming down the pipe.

Who is it in the GOP that is talking about accepting gay marriage? I know of nobody? Are they talking about adding language to the GOP platform??

As long as the people are allowed to vote otherwise “homosexual marriage” (always use scare quotes as there IS no such thing—yet)can only be contrived and instituted by activist judges.

If SCOTUS supports these liberal judges then “chosen behaviors” will turn those who act certain ways into federally sanctioned, protected and privileged minorities entitled to all kinds of taxpayer funded goodies both social and financial.

Wrong, True conservatives for the most part understand that gay marriage undermines the society and cannot be allowed. However this subject is helping to show whom is a true conservatives and others with RINO tendencies at best.

Also not a true conservative will not bend on this subject but a RINO will in the end. Lets see which way they bend while flushing as many out as possible.

Note: Anti gay marriage does not have to be hateful as some attend it to be it just does not need to be accepted as a norm, for it is abnormal.

Ken Mehlman, Beck isn't worried about it and Coulter is going to "entertain" them at Homocon. So the press is playing it up big time to make it look like a consensus. It's not. It's a few talking heads that have lost theirs, heads that is. They aren't the face of conservatives on this issue but the press will claim that they are. And do damage.

I like to put the word marriage in quotes when addressing this issue because there is no such thing as Gay “Marriage”.

The real area of concern should be the young. I’ve seen polls. They think differently on this issues than do older people and much of that has to do with the propaganda they learn in school. That propoganda might eventually result in queer marriage being the law of the land nationwide.

I have no problems if homosexuals want to support conservative candidates. I do have a big problem with conservatives supporting homosexual marriage. The quickest way to lose social conservatives is to embrace same-sex marriage. The problem that we may face is what do you do when all the candidates for political office support same-sex marriages?

Haven't you noticed? The mainline "churches" are already doing it. They're even "marrying" homosexuals. They're even ordaining them to the clergy.

This is why we're swimming upstream. Homosexuality has permeated the churches, education and entertainment.

How many Freepers even continue to attend churches that embrace homosexuality? We cannot expect a political solution to a moral problem.

Excellent point. I don't even have a problem with Log Cabin Republicans and welcome their votes but in no way should the Republican party in their platform condone homosexuality.

Same-Sex Marriage by any name is not matrimony just as Dog-Cat Marriage is not matrimony.

One wonders whether Coulter has ever spoken at, say, Amherst; or for that matter whether Farrah has.
