While I agree with you zeal against islam, because Beck/mormonism is trying to jump into this whole current populist uprising against progressive liberalism, I will stand back and judge those religio-political implications of mormonism current agressive political push.
Both are trying conversions, but one is politically backed (Islam) while the other is despised by both sides of the political spectrum (Mormonism). One has far more numerically in membership and wealth (people forget the wealthy sheiks in the Middle East or the merchants in Southeast Asia) 50,000 missionaries worldwide is small in comparison to the growth of Islam in America (100,000 to over 10 million). One at least receives a show of sympathy from politicians when some allegation comes of a koran or mosque being defiled, but no such sympathy comes for a Mormon, it’s a check against them becoming as arrogant as radical Islam. BTW, do you think the actions against polygamy in the 19th century humbled them to the will of the other Americans. My observation of Mormonism in this case shows that they possess very human fears such as being politically powerless or without wealth. They gave in when the rule of law was ultimately applied to them.
I would like to talk more, but other matters of life call my name, I would also like to refer you to post #46, some of the referenced people there give plenty of good reason why you have little reason to be afraid of the Church, based on how they are demographically, financially, and politically doing!
Don’t view them as being more powerful than they really are, this view is very self-defeating.
