1. Obedience is critical to salvation.

JESUS seems to have MISSED your little 'fact'!

John 6:28-29

28. Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"
29. Jesus answered,
"The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

One verse does not the New Testament make.

Matthew 18:1 At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
2 And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
3 And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
4 Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.

Here we have recognition of degrees in Heaven by Jesus himself.

Furthermore Jesus states that we must be “converted” (works) and “become” (more works) “as little children” or you “shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.”

Parsing the Bible and picking nuanced scripture to prove your point doesn’t work. You must take the volume as a whole. That is the entire Bible, not just parts that please you.

In the end you may believe as you wish. I respect your conscience. What you may not do as a Christian is lie about the LDS.

The LDS are Christians and their views, although not mainstream, are Biblical and strongly so.

On second reading this is of interest to the entire group:

John 6:28-29

28. Then they asked him, "What must we do to do the works God requires?"

29. Jesus answered, "The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent."

The Greek is "ergazōmetha" which means: "we may work". So Jesus is being asked, "How do we begin to do the works of God?"

John 6:28 Greek

So to commence God's work you have to believe in Jesus Christ. No LDS would deny this, correct BlueMoose or restornu?

Secondly, the verse confirms the need for works from by Jesus himself, faith or belief being only a starting point.
