From the article: "The Church has sought to respect Islamic laws and traditions that prohibit conversion of Muslims to other faiths by adopting a policy of nonproselyting in Islamic countries of the Middle East.

Why the special treatment of muslims over that of Christians?

Because they might just loose their heads? Isn’t that the only logical reason muslims receive special treatment?

Cults of a feather...

In order for either to fully succeed, Christianity has to be destroyed.

Well, Mormonism HAS been called “the American Islam.” And God can convert both Muslims and Mormons for His glory.

The answer is simple.

Mormonism preys on Christianity. It is a parasite, following Christian missionary efforts to try to lure away the weak willed, the poorly grounded in Scripture, etc.

It doesn’t go and establish great works on its own accord. It is a cult. A heresy. An American false religion.

I recently found out that a Mormon woman I know has a sister who married a Muslim. Between them they have 14 kids so far. These two religions have large families and polygamy in common. I wonder if there is anything else.

Joseph Smith and Mohammed had a lot in common.they hated Christian religions and believed they were of satan, both men were liars and frauds and both liked the idea of multiple wives and saw women as property

Ensign Magazine

Do we consider this to speak under the auspices of the GA, or is it just another 'opinion' (a la the other 'mormon' website)?

Gollies this is interesting...

From the mormon newspaper, Deseret News (Mormon Times)

Monday, Oct. 12, 2009

LDS ward in California hosted mosque prayers for more than a year

“In October 2007, construction forced them to move elsewhere, to a nearby ward — congregation — of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. The ward hosted the mosque’s Friday prayers for 1 ½ years.

The Mormon ward’s invitation to the Ahmadis came after years of friendship and members visiting each others’ congregations, said Ken Rasmussen, director of public affairs for the Latter-day Saints region that includes Chino.

Rasmussen said he didn’t know about the striking similarities between the two faiths’ histories of persecution and misunderstanding until a few months after members of the two congregations began holding joint dinners.”

I am arriving late, but I must say I'm not shocked by this, after all, Mormonism and Islam have much in common:

-Denial of the Trinity
-The stance the the Bible has been corrupted
-Sex for eternity
-Polygamy
-Child Brides
-And what has been described in Scripture as the message of the anti-Christ; that of works righteousness

And what might be the most controversial 'round these parts:

-September 11: Mountain Meadows Massacre
-September 11: Well, we all know that one....

It seems to me that Mormons and Mohammedans are spiritual kin folk.
