Fellow Freeper, OneVike, Needs Our Prayers

OneVike has been a Freeper since early 1998, and it seems he is having some medical troubles. I know OV from before I joined FreeRepublic, in fact he is the one who turned me onto FR. I have not regretted the day I joined, and I have many new friends I would not have had if it were not for him getting me to join. OV has never been one to worry about his own troubles much, instead he is usually asking others to pray for his paraplegic wife who has had her share of troubles.

I found out that he is suffering from some sort of nerve problem that has made it impossible for him to concentrate or even use a keyboard. I guess it's an old injury from the accident he and his wife were in 22 years ago that put her in a wheelchair. I talked to him on the phone and he is not sure when he will heal.

The doctors say they cannot do anything for him because he has arthritis that has set into his neck from a childhood illness that was aggravated even worse by the accident in "87". He was told when the inflammation goes down they might be able to help, but as long as it's inflamed there isn't much they can do. They have him on pain killers but he says they really only take the edge off. He doesn't sleep good at night and is finding difficult to even do the things he normally does for his wife.

I read some comments to an article he wrote on his blog called PUP where he explained some of his problems why he has not posted but a few articles this Month and while there is some support for him with prayers, quite a few are leaving hateful comments about his troubles. Saying things like God is doing it to him because he is a bigot, and they hope he never recovers to write again.

Well, I am asking you all to pray for OV, and maybe let those hateful liberals who are leaving mean spirited and evil comments on his site know what you think.

I promised to keep everyone up on whats happening with OV.

This is a comment OneVike left as a reply to a question to another Freeper who asked if someone could reply to the comments for him. The question was asked as a comment on his site, "Gate".

I can reply, but it is difficult because the position I need to be in to type is what seems to cause the trouble the most. So I can last about 20 minutes or so, but then the pain gets to the point that I just cannot get myself to even care about anything.
As for the pain, my doctor says that because it is basically brought on by the arthritis in my neck and in my elbow. It seems that the inflammation puts pressure on the nerves that my pain is coming from. I can take ibuprofen to lessen the inflammation and Vicodin takes the edge off the pain. I have gone through this before and it is just something I have to wait out.
The biggest problem I have is it lasts longer and is more painful every time it happens, and this time it is the worse it has ever been. Then I have a back problem that just adds to the whole problem, because I have electrical type spasms in my back that just happens to be going on at the same time.
Just in the time that I have been typing this response to you my elbow and my shoulder blade is burning like someone its poking me with a hot poker. At the same time my neck is getting stiff and my back feels like I have a million pounds weighing me down.
So I need to get off and go lie down now. I really cannot even think about the rest of your question because I am so uncomfortable I cannot even think of what I want to say. Sorry if that did not answer your question but it hurts to much right now for me to continue.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll feel better. Then I will also work on a reply to all the gracious Freepers who have been praying for me on FreeRepublic in my time of duress. Especially Tom Hawks who asked everyone to pray for me.
The pain is too much right now for me to write anything more. I'm sorry, because I don't even think I answered your question.
