Perhaps Rn can tell who is saved or not — she’s got the gift.
Luther didn’t remove the Apocrypha. But facts are of little consequence in these “Jesus loves me more” threads.
Grace is a wonderful gift of love given to us by Our Heavenly Father.
As far as being “born again” goes, for me it’s a personal thing. A feeling of joy & hope I that fills my heart each time I receive Jesus Christ in the Holy Eucharist or when I confess my sins in the wonderful Sacrament of Confession. I feel like a new person each and every time. God is so good!!!
As far as being born again in the Sacrament of Baptism that occurs once as has been explained many times. Read chapter 3 of the Gospel according to Saint John if you want to know more.
Peace be with you always!
Oh, so you believe that Steve Ray and Scott Hahn’s lives are fabricated?
Of course The Pope’s headgear wouldn’t cut - like the crown of thorns.
Once again he followed many before him like Jerome
It is not that he removed the books it is that the Catholic church added books they had no authority to add.. The OT was written to the Jews and for the Jews..the NT is written to the church and for the church .
Only the Jews have authority over the OT scriptures ..and the church has authority over the NT
God never transferred the authority for the OT to the church it remains to this day with the Jews..
Luther recognized the books that the Jew's declared canonical as inspired as do Protestants today
But, no worries -- his heresy is dying out, but the sub-sub-sub-heresies that his heresy spawned are just birthed, so they (the evangelico) will die out soon.
Indeed as we enter the last days there will be a decrease in the number of those saved.. and there will be a great falling away from the truth of Gods word.. (Matt 13)
The kingdom of God has never been about numbers, it has always been about His Lordship ...he tells us many will hear the gospel but few will follow ..
Yea know, I think it is the height of self worship to think we can do anything that pleases God. what we do is filthy rags , we can do nothing to earn His love, or grace or mercy .. .
Like most of my saved friends I am daily aware of my sin and how unworthy I am to be called His Child and the sister of Christ ...
On the day of my salvation I kept asking God "Why me?" Why me?" I have never stopped asking that question..there is not one thing about me worthy of His love or grace
I think scripture tells us how we can know the saved..
Will you burn them at the stake like you did in times of yore? Heresies to one zealot may not be heresy to a rational person.
I don’t need a church OR a pastor or a priest to be saved. I am saved strictly because I believe the Bible scripture that says, “believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved”. This may surprise you but I can actually watch football on Sunday mornings and still go to heaven.
The non Catholics won't be dead, we'll be gone....
I do not think the apostles felt good as they died for their faith ..
Feelings can be deceptive..the Mormons will tell you how they feel saved and have a warmed heart and a leading of the spirit... Jesus did not have a warm fuzzy feel good feeling in the garden as he prayed before he was arrested..
Instead of trusting our feelings, it is more profitable to trust His word..
Nicodemus, understood what jesus was saying , even if catholics do not .
3Jesus answered him, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born againb he cannot see the kingdom of God. 4Nicodemus said to him, How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mothers womb and be born? 5Jesus answered, Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. 6That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. 7Do not marvel that I said to you, You must be born again. 8The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.
Being born of the water is our human birth...being born of the spirit is our spiritual birth...context , context , context..
Nicodemus likens it to being in the womb...Jesus responds directly to that statement and calls that being born of the flesh...being born of the water AND the spirit
This is consistent with other scripture
Eph 2 1And you were dead in the trespasses and sins 2in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience 3among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. 4Butb God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christby grace you have been saved
Because you will never get the touch' deserved with that brilliant post, mainly because they cannot know what they do not see, please allow me to touche' you by proxy! Brilliant!
Heresies, not heretics. The heresies will be dead, heresies are what a heretic believes. This meeting of the Mutual Admiration Society is canceled on account of reading comprehension issues.
if there are 100 Catholics and 54 vote for obozo, and 20 Jews and 18 vote for him, and 600 Prots and 299 vote obozo, which is the group that elects him?
the prots by far, even though a mjority of the Catholics and Jews voted for him, they can't do anything by themselves, it is the Prots and only the Prots that elect him.
WELL PUT.
THX THX.
Here are your own questions, answer them please:
So then are you saved?
How do you know that?
Do you know for certain that you will leave this life and go to heaven ?
How do you know that?
