Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Nancy Pelosi further ditched her Catholic credentials again as she was unable to answer a reporter's question about whether Jesus Christ should have had his right to life protected from conception.
Earlier this year, Pelosi said she has an obligation to pursue public policy “in keeping with the values” of Jesus. Yet, asked by a CNS News reporter late last week whether Jesus has the right to life, Pelosi couldn't agree.
At her July 29 press briefing, CNSNews asked: “You said at a recent Catholic Community Conference that your favorite word was ‘The Word, as in the word made flesh,’ and that we need to quote, ‘give voice to what that means in terms of public policy that would be in keeping with the Word.’"
The reporter continued: "So, when was the Word made flesh? Was it at the Annunciation, when Jesus was conceived by the power of the Holy Sprit, as the Creed says, or was it at the Nativity when he was born of the Virgin Mary? And when did the Word get the right to life?”
“Whenever it was, we bow our heads when we talk about it in church, and that’s where I'd like to talk about that," Pelosi said in response.
The conservative news web site then sent an email to Pelosi's press secretary Nadeam Elshami seeking clarification.
Elshami responded in an email with the words, “The speaker answered the question. Thanks.”
This isn't the first time Pelosi has upset pro-life Catholics with her religious talk that fails to honor the pro-life teachings of the Catholic Church.
Pelosi has been repeatedly at odds with the Catholic Church, in which she claims membership, over the issue of abortion.
In March, she called on a Catholic saint to help her and her pro-abortion colleague pass a Senate health care bill that contains massive abortion funding. Not only did Pelosi upset pro-life Catholics in so doing, but she got the date wrong concerning the saint she mentioned.
Pelosi has claimed to be a good Catholic while advancing abortion at a rapid pace.
In a 2006 interview with Clift, Pelosi regretted that her family is “very pro-life” and would “like it if I were not so vocally pro-choice.” But, she proclaimed, “To me it isn't even a question. God has given us a free will.”
Last year she said the "free will" of women wanting abortions outweighs pro-life Catholic teachings.
And those comments followed on Pelosi thanking God that the Senate health care bill funds abortions.

Nancy Pelosi is seriously confused about nearly everything, consistent with her double-digit IQ.
Pelosi can say whatever she wants.
She can also continue to call herself a Catholic.
It is up to her Bishop to decide whether she is, in any real meaningful sense, actually a Catholic.
In my opinion, he should do this publicly.

The Pope is Catholic; Nazi Pelicanosi is catholic, as in cino. She serves the wrong powers, of darkness. She is a wicked person.
You know, she turned 70 this year. Not that many years left, if any - from a biblical standpoint.
To leftist judges and this archbishop, rules are made to be broken, not upheld and respected. What do I expect from church leadership (or leftist judges and politicians) that pander to illegal aliens - ignoring the US Rule of Law as well. Killing unborn babies is morally corrupt - period, and a greater power than myself will be the judge of that!
Wow!! I read that article. Deeply disturbing as Abp Weurel used to be our Bishop in Pittsburgh. I hope it’s not wrong of me to say he totally sugar coated his BS about who is & isn’t Catholic. Further, claiming that Pelosi isn’t part of his flock is a turd, too. She spends alot of time in DC and may show up in his communion line some day. As a prominent leader in the Church, aren’t we all part of his “flock”?

The Catholic Church is FULL of pro-abortion politicians...it’s a large part of the reason that I no longer attend my parish...Claire McCaskill (D-Missouri), an avowed pro-abort is a member in good standing of my former parish...course she gives lots of money, so that makes it OK in the eyes of the Church.
It’s obviously above her pay grade.
Except when you want to bring it up for political purposes like you did about a week ago.
