Canon 1398 provides that, "a person who procures a successful abortion incurs an automatic (latae sententiae) excommunication." This means that at the very moment that the abortion is successfully accomplished, the woman and all formal conspirators are excommunicated.[Archbishop] Wuerl: Why I Won't Deny Pelosi Communion

Of Pelosi in particular, he cites two big reasons he hasn't and won't try to keep her from receiving Communion: First, "there's a question about whether this canon'' the relevant church law "was ever intended to be used'' to bring politicians to heel. He thinks not. "I stand with the great majority of American bishops and bishops around the world in saying this canon was never intended to be used this way.'' To leftist judges and this archbishop, rules are made to be broken, not upheld and respected. What do I expect from church leadership (or leftist judges and politicians) that pander to illegal aliens - ignoring the US Rule of Law as well. Killing unborn babies is morally corrupt - period, and a greater power than myself will be the judge of that!

Wow!! I read that article. Deeply disturbing as Abp Weurel used to be our Bishop in Pittsburgh. I hope it’s not wrong of me to say he totally sugar coated his BS about who is & isn’t Catholic. Further, claiming that Pelosi isn’t part of his flock is a turd, too. She spends alot of time in DC and may show up in his communion line some day. As a prominent leader in the Church, aren’t we all part of his “flock”?
Very disappointing.
