The Catholic church has way too much blood on it’s hands in the 20th century with Marxist governments to have any credit on anything.
And their support of socialism in America makes me sick!
>>...to have any credit on anything.
If you’re choosing enemies, you could do worse than the Church.
I suppose the Catholic Church starved the Kulaks, sent millions of people to freeze and starve in the Gulags, created mass democide on the Chinese mainland, created the killing fields of Kampuchea and Cuba, and killed all those Poles and Jews in the concentration camps.
I guess the Catholic Church also murdered millions of children in the womb as well.
Sigh. Your post was mostly gibbering insanity.
However there is a real issue with members of (e.g.) the American church hierarchy supporting socialist doctrines. Lead with that next time, rather than the DU-style frothing at the mouth.
Looking at the interaction of the Catholic Church with the governments of the former Soviet bloc and also in the far east today, in countries such as China and Vietnam, I'm not sure how you come to that conclusion. The blood frequently is and was Catholic blood and the perpetrators Marxists.
Most sane commentators regard the Catholic Church as being in the vanguard of opposition to communism behind the Iron Curtain and having played a major role in its downfall.
Then you really must love Methodists, Congregationalists, Presbyterians, and Episcopalians -- among others. You really should broaden your hatred to include all Christian groups. //sarcasm off
“I am a Muslim first, an American second.”
Uh...I thought Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan said that. Barry never said that.
"Then I looked to the great editors of the newspapers, whose flaming editorials...had proclaimed their love of freedom; but they, like the universities, were silenced in a few short weeks....
"Only the Church stood squarely across the path of Hitler's campaign for suppressing the truth... the Church alone has had the courage and persistence to stand for intellectual and moral freedom.
"I am forced to confess that what I once despised I now praise unreservedly."
Please do not confuse the minstrations of misguided American liberals with what is really taught. Paragraph 7 refers to Socialism being equivalent to hell on earth.
