Mormon Missionary Deception Method:
aMorePerfectUnion ^ | July 18,2010

Here it is again Resty, so you can pick out three things that are untrue. Any three. Mormon Missionary Deception Method:

1. Convince you of their sincerity 2. Trick you into expressing faith first in the Book of Mormon by praying and asking for a sign (this takes you off the objective ground of Biblical truth and puts you into subjective ground of feelings) 3. Convince you that the Bible has errors in its translation 4. Trick you into expressing faith in the prophet Joseph Smith 5. Trick you into expressing faith in the Restoration of the “Gospel” (see Galatians Chapter one) 6. Get you all the way into the baptismal font...

..........................................................

7. ONLY THEN... you will learn the true DEVIANT doctrines of Mormonism. At this point, it is too late! You only have feelings as a basis of truth! You will believe anything.

..........................................................

Such as the following “truths” taught in mormonism ...

The 3 Mormon Earth gods:

... The mormon “Heavenly Father” used to be a regular Joe, but became God - his name was Adam. Adam sinned. You will have to swallow that God could sin! ... The Jesus of mormonism was a created spirit being who became one of the three mormon earth gods ... The mormonic Holy Spirit is also a created spirit being. He doesn’t have a body because he is on probation! Yes, he was naughty. He sinned.

... In short, the mormon earth gods are fallen, sinful, created spirit beings.

... and there is more...

The FOURTH Mormon Earth God they don't like to talk about

... The Mormon Heavenly Mother God!

... Yes, it turns out there is a mormonic “Heavenly Mother God!”

... SHE and the father god have sex ... SHE is eternally pregnant ... SHE pops out spirit children who will some day get a human body on earth and can become gods themselves ... SHE is probably not the only godess! Mormons still believe and teach eternal polygamy - sister godesses

The Mormonic Pantheon of Trillions of gods:

... There are TRILLIONS of mormon gods on other planets. No one knows how many. It could be infinite. ... Hindus have approximately 350 million gods. They are pikers compared to mormons!

... How do they get so many gods? They manufacture more all the time:

... Any mormon male can be a God with his own planet, mother goddesses, and spirit kids to worship him. ... Becoming a mormon god means lots of works to attain the god-level. This is why you see mormons working so hard. Now you know why. They have to prove themselves worthy of godhood. ... All the trillions of gods in the mormon pantheon get together regularly over spring break in Kolob Beach to “counsel together”

What will your life be like as a mormon?

... you have to give 10%? - if not, no top level of heaven for you! ... your bishop is there to ask if you gave your FULL tithe - he may ask to see your pay stubs ... your bishop is also there to ask many probing, personal, embarrassing questions ... you will have to complete Masonic Temple rituals that involve strangers touching your private parts ... You will have to wear magic underwear 24/7/365

Once inside the Morg, you have to accept it ALL to move up the chain towards Godhood. This is just the start!

“Roman Catholics and Mormons differ on a LOT of things, but we agree that Jesus is the Christ.”

Sorry, Old Student, but it’s back to the books for you!

Roman Catholics believe the Biblical Jesus Christ: Eternally God, neither created nor made.

The mormon Jesus is a created spirit being who became a man who became a god.

Roman Catholics believe in ONE GOD.

Mormonism teaches that there are 3 earth gods plus heavenly mother, which is four, plus an infinite number of other gods. Maybe you are hoping, as a mormon, to become one of those other gods, yourself.

Mormonism is not Christianity.

Why don’t you cut to the chase and tell us exactly how many gods exist?

best,
ampu

“Why do you think that makes us (mormonism) NOT Christians?”

the following facts:

FACT - Mormonism teaches that there are many gods - an infinite number of gods.

FACT - Mormonism denies God’s triune nature, which is a heresy.

FACT - Mormonism changes the Gospel of Grace into a gospel of works.

FACT - Mormonism makes an idol out of God by changing His Holy nature into a man who sinned, a Holy Spirit on probation who hasn’t qualified for a body yet and a Son of God who is a created spirit being.

“Do you know the formal name of our church?”

Yes. Mormonism steals the name of Jesus Christ and changes it to mean a created spirit being, instead of the Biblical Christ. Using the name while talking about someone else does not make mormonism a Christian group.

KDD,

I do not excuse burning, torturing, fining, imprisoning or any other.

The Deist Jefferson is wrong though as to the goal of Christianity. It is not uniformity.

But then he destroyed the Bible cutting passages out, so he probably shouldn’t be expected to have read it or believed it.

reaganaut,

I am not sure of the protocol around here for stealing the posts of someone else and posting without permission.

At the least, I would have asked another freeper if it was OK with them.

On the other hand, Restornu has guaranteed that hundreds of more people will read about the heresy of mormonism - especially those very things mormons try so hard to hide from potential converts.

All told, a good trade. Thanks for asking the RM. I am curious as to what is proper.

best,
ampu

Agreed about the results of this. My concern was since we are not allowed to carry arguments from one thread to another if this was a violation of that. I, too, look forward to seeing the verdict on this one.

As one who was lied into Mormonism, and taught to lie in missionary training for the LDS church, welcome the expose of their missionary tactics.

I am surprised that Resty pulled this approach out of her hat in as much as it is not really Mormonistic in any way. It is a bit Obamanistic to me.

In fact when I was working in the fields of Denmark, we too used deceptive practices to make the numbers. On occasion we actually were truthful if we had an unsuspecting baptisee ready for the water in that we then would tell them about that ten percent deal and that coffee and tea thing.

BTW Greyfoxx39, glad to hear your good news. My prayers are with you also.

My wife and I have a running joke, based on my wanting a lathe from before I met her. That is “what kind of lathe do you need to turn a planet?”

Other than that, I’m more inclined to try to be worthy of what Jesus did for me. Not that I’ll ever manage it, but I want to at least TRY! to need as little of his infinite mercy as I can manage. Not much success at that, I’m afraid.

I think of that song as more of a prayer; I’m one of the joyful-noise types. I can carry a tune. As long as it’s printed, and put in a good sturdy bucket.

What do you think.

We must be having some recent impact, the LDS and their allies have been particularly active of late, many “new” names...

Looks the same every where I have been on the net. Facts are hammering the LDS.

“I studied what I was given and thought I knew it well, and did know more than MOST converts (the Doctrine and Covenants and Pearl of Great price), but it was STILL a shock to find out what they REALLY believed.”

I’d be interested to know what you found out that shocked you so. The more I find out, the more I become convinced I did the right thing. What made our two experiences so different?

Jefferson was not a deist

Thomas Jefferson

SIGNER OF THE DECLARATION OF INDEPENDENCE; DIPLOMAT; GOVERNOR OF VIRGINIA; SECRETARY OF STATE; THIRD PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

The doctrines of Jesus are simple, and tend all to the happiness of man.64

The practice of morality being necessary for the well being of society, He [God] has taken care to impress its precepts so indelibly on our hearts that they shall not be effaced by the subtleties of our brain. We all agree in the obligation of the moral principles of Jesus and nowhere will they be found delivered in greater purity than in His discourses.65

I am a Christian in the only sense in which He wished anyone to be: sincerely attached to His doctrines in preference to all others.66

I am a real Christian – that is to say, a disciple of the doctrines of Jesus Christ.67

This doctrine that there is a Mother in Heaven was affirmed in plainness by the First Presidency of the Church (Joseph F. Smith, John R. Winder, and Anthon H. Lund) when, in speaking of pre-existence and the origin of man, they said that ‘man, as a spirit, was begotten and born of heavenly parents, and reared to maturity in the eternal mansions of the Father,’ that man is the ‘offspring of celestial parentage,’ and that ‘all men and women are in the similitude of the universal Father and Mother and are literally the sons and daughters of Deity.’ (Man: His Origin and Destiny, pp.348-355.)” (Mormon Doctrine, 1966, p. 516)

“These name-titles all signify that our Lord is the only Son of the Father in the flesh. Each of the words is to be understood literally. Only means only; Begotten means begotten; and Son means son. Christ was begotten by an Immortal Father in the same way that mortal men are begotten by mortal fathers.” (Mormon Doctrine, p. 546).

The Mormons I know are exceptionally good and decent people. I have never witnessed any nastiness or hard-heartedness from any of them that is even remotely of the kind that some of the so-called devout "Christians" display at FR when attacking Mormons.

These Mormon bashers just see themselves as pitbulls for Jesus, I guess. I never thought Jesus would need such people to defend Christianity on his behalf.

I'm not a particularly good man, myself. But I can detect hypocrisy from vicious people who pass themselves off as good Christians.

Now I'll leave. They'll be here soon to attack me, I'm sure. They always show up, fangs bared.

“Is that the Eternal Jesus or the created jesus?”

In so far as I'm aware, as I said earlier in this thread, there was one hill, three crosses, and two thieves. We can disagree about the nature of the man on that third cross, but there was only ONE man. Jesus. Human, and dead, and Spirit, and very much alive. Later on, the human part became alive again because of the strength of the Spirit, and perfected by that Spirit.

The Bible says rather plainly that he walked among men, and let them touch him, and put their hands in his wounds. Sounds like a body to me.
