Mormon Missionary Deception Method:
aMorePerfectUnion ^ | July 18,2010

Posted on 07/18/2010 4:27:06 PM PDT by restornu

Here it is again Resty, so you can pick out three things that are untrue. Any three. Mormon Missionary Deception Method:

1. Convince you of their sincerity 2. Trick you into expressing faith first in the Book of Mormon by praying and asking for a sign (this takes you off the objective ground of Biblical truth and puts you into subjective ground of feelings) 3. Convince you that the Bible has errors in its translation 4. Trick you into expressing faith in the prophet Joseph Smith 5. Trick you into expressing faith in the Restoration of the “Gospel” (see Galatians Chapter one) 6. Get you all the way into the baptismal font...

..........................................................

7. ONLY THEN... you will learn the true DEVIANT doctrines of Mormonism. At this point, it is too late! You only have feelings as a basis of truth! You will believe anything.

..........................................................

Such as the following “truths” taught in mormonism ...

The 3 Mormon Earth gods:

... The mormon “Heavenly Father” used to be a regular Joe, but became God - his name was Adam. Adam sinned. You will have to swallow that God could sin! ... The Jesus of mormonism was a created spirit being who became one of the three mormon earth gods ... The mormonic Holy Spirit is also a created spirit being. He doesn’t have a body because he is on probation! Yes, he was naughty. He sinned.

... In short, the mormon earth gods are fallen, sinful, created spirit beings.

... and there is more...

The FOURTH Mormon Earth God they don't like to talk about

... The Mormon Heavenly Mother God!

... Yes, it turns out there is a mormonic “Heavenly Mother God!”

... SHE and the father god have sex ... SHE is eternally pregnant ... SHE pops out spirit children who will some day get a human body on earth and can become gods themselves ... SHE is probably not the only godess! Mormons still believe and teach eternal polygamy - sister godesses

The Mormonic Pantheon of Trillions of gods:

... There are TRILLIONS of mormon gods on other planets. No one knows how many. It could be infinite. ... Hindus have approximately 350 million gods. They are pikers compared to mormons!

... How do they get so many gods? They manufacture more all the time:

... Any mormon male can be a God with his own planet, mother goddesses, and spirit kids to worship him. ... Becoming a mormon god means lots of works to attain the god-level. This is why you see mormons working so hard. Now you know why. They have to prove themselves worthy of godhood. ... All the trillions of gods in the mormon pantheon get together regularly over spring break in Kolob Beach to “counsel together”

What will your life be like as a mormon?

... you have to give 10%? - if not, no top level of heaven for you! ... your bishop is there to ask if you gave your FULL tithe - he may ask to see your pay stubs ... your bishop is also there to ask many probing, personal, embarrassing questions ... you will have to complete Masonic Temple rituals that involve strangers touching your private parts ... You will have to wear magic underwear 24/7/365

Once inside the Morg, you have to accept it ALL to move up the chain towards Godhood. This is just the start!

What was posted from and LDS site or was it altered and edited to put emphases where they don’t belong to take it out of context or the spirit in which it was written or intended?

I just HATE when that happens!

My 11/2000 printing of the BoM, the one with © 1981 by Intellectual Reserve, Inc. on the frontisplate, states, at the bottom of the BRIEF EXPLANATION page:

About this edition:  Some minor errors in the text have been perpetuated in
past editions of the Book of Mormon.  This edition contains corrections that
seem appropriate  to  bring  the  material into conformity with prepublication
manuscripts and early editions edited by the Prophet Joseph Smith.

SEEM appropriate?  Didn't the Quorum of Twelve convene to put THEIR imprimitur on the CHANGES?

How did GOD allow these ERRORS to even get STARTED?
If HIS purpose was to CORRECT error in the FIRST place...

“nice try, but only the Catholic church has the entire truth.....all other “denominations” have altered, eliminated, changed, revised, screwed up, denied etc etc the true teachings of the only true Christian church ever.....Catholicism......none other even come close.”

According to the history I've read, there were at least 20 ecumenical councils, over 1700 years, used to define church doctrine. The first of them declared Arianism a heresy. That was after the foundation of Byzantium, btw. 4th Century AD. What happened between the Crucifixion and Resurrection of Christ, and the Nicean Council? The Council of Trent? Vatican II?

My church teaches that the priesthood and much of the Gospel was lost sometime in there. That is why we call ourselves the Restoration Church. As opposed to the Protestant Reformation churchs, who apparently think it just got a little sidetracked, or something, and you folks, who believe it's never been lost...

This is the core of the problem, really. I believe what I believe, and you believe what you believe. They believe what they believe. We're probably going to have to wait until Jesus returns to find out for sure who is right.

I expect I'll have a lot of pings tomorrow, but I'm about fried for tonight. Good night, and God Bless.

Even if we can't resolve our doctrinal differences, it's possible we can both understand one another better, and maybe even learn to work together until HE comes back. Despite what I've said about my Baptist stepfather, who felt much about Catholics as he did Mormons, there are good and decent people in that church. Likewise Catholics. My dad and stepmom among them. And we do have some scum in my church, as well. Humans. Bell-curve crowds.

Any Mormons I have met, are very nice people. It’s just that they are following an incorrect belief system.

Jesus was complete in what He did. Nothing else was needed or ever will be needed.

...did you ever hear of Good public relations it is by getting to know one another

Save your crocodile tears for the nursery set, MORMON!

http://scriptures.lds.org/en/js_h/1/17#17

17 It no sooner appeared than I found myself delivered from the enemy which held me bound. When the light rested upon me I saw two Personages, whose brightness and glory defy all description, standing above me in the air. One of them spake unto me, calling me by name and said, pointing to the other—This is My Beloved Son. Hear Him!
18 My object in going to inquire of the Lord was to know which of all the sects was right, that I might know which to join. No sooner, therefore, did I get possession of myself, so as to be able to speak, than I asked the Personages who stood above me in the light, which of all the sects was right (for at this time it had never entered into my heart that all were wrong)—and which I should join.
19 I was answered that I must join none of them, for they were all wrong; and the Personage who addressed me said that all their creeds were an abomination in his sight; that those professors were all corrupt; that: “they draw near to me with their lips, but their hearts are far from me, they teach for doctrines the commandments of men, having a form of godliness, but they deny the power thereof.”
20 He again forbade me to join with any of them; and many other things did he say unto me, which I cannot write at this time. When I came to myself again, I found myself lying on my back, looking up into heaven. When the light had departed, I had no strength; but soon recovering in some degree, I went home. And as I leaned up to the fireplace, mother inquired what the matter was. I replied, “Never mind, all is well—I am well enough off.” I then said to my mother,
“I have learned for myself that Presbyterianism is not true.”

And, continuing thru the years, the high ranking leaders of that Organization have done the same!

Joseph Smith continues: "for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible" (from Pearl of Great Price, Joseph Smith-History 1:12). "What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world" (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p.270).

Questions put to Joseph Smith: "'Do you believe the Bible?' [Smith:]'If we do, we are the only people under heaven that does, for there are none of the religious sects of the day that do'. When asked 'Will everybody be damned, but Mormons'? [Smith replied] 'Yes, and a great portion of them, unless they repent, and work righteousness." (Teachings of the Prophet Joseph Smith, p. 119).

Brigham Young stated this repeatedly: "When the light came to me I saw that all the so-called Christian world was grovelling in darkness" (Journal of Discourses 5:73); "The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God" (Journal of Discourses 8:171); "With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world" (Journal of Discourses 8:199); "And who is there that acknowledges [God's] hand? ...You may wander east, west, north, and south, and you cannot find it in any church or government on the earth, except the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p.24); "Should you ask why we differ from other Christians, as they are called, it is simply because they are not Christians as the New Testament defines Christianity" (Journal of Discourses 10:230).

Orson Pratt proclaimed: "Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the 'whore of Babylon' whom the Lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness. Any person who shall be so corrupt as to receive a holy ordinance of the Gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent" (The Seer, p. 255).

Pratt also said: "This great apostasy commenced about the close of the first century of the Christian era, and it has been waxing worse and worse from then until now" (Journal of Discourses, vol.18, p.44) and: "But as there has been no Christian Church on the earth for a great many centuries past, until the present century, the people have lost sight of the pattern that God has given according to which the Christian Church should be established, and they have denominated a great variety of people Christian Churches, because they profess to be ...But there has been a long apostasy, during which the nations have been cursed with apostate churches in great abundance" (Journal of Discourses, 18:172).

President John Taylor stated: "Christianity...is a perfect pack of nonsense...the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century." (Journal of Discourses, vol. 6, p.167); "Where shall we look for the true order or authority of God? It cannot be found in any nation of Christendom." (Journal of Discourses, 10:127).
James Talmage said: "A self-suggesting interpretation of history indicates that there has been a great departure from the way of salvation as laid down by the Savior, a universal apostasy from the Church of Christ". (A Study of the Articles of Faith, p.182).

President Joseph Fielding Smith said: "Doctrines were corrupted, authority lost, and a false order of religion took the place of the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as it had been the case in former dispensations, and the people were left in spiritual darkness." (Doctrines of Salvation, p.266). "For hundreds of years the world was wrapped in a veil of spiritual darkness, until there was not one fundamental truth belonging to the place of salvation ...Joseph Smith declared that in the year 1820 the Lord revealed to him that all the 'Christian' churches were in error, teaching for commandments the doctrines of men" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol. 3, p.282).

More recent statements by apostle Bruce McConkie are also very clear: "Apostasy was universal...And this darkness still prevails except among those who have come to a knowledge of the restored gospel" (Doctrines of Salvation, vol 3, p.265); "Thus the signs of the times include the prevailing apostate darkness in the sects of Christendom and in the religious world in general" (The Millennial Messiah, p.403); "a perverted Christianity holds sway among the so-called Christians of apostate Christendom" (Mormon Doctrine, p.132); "virtually all the millions of apostate Christendom have abased themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ whom they vainly suppose to be a spirit essence who is incorporeal uncreated, immaterial and three-in-one with the Father and Holy Spirit" (Mormon Doctrine, p.269); "Gnosticism is one of the great pagan philosophies which antedated Christ and the Christian Era and which was later commingled with pure Christianity to form the apostate religion that has prevailed in the world since the early days of that era." (Mormon Doctrine, p.316).

President George Q. Cannon said: "After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christendom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common origin. They all belong to Babylon" (Gospel Truth, p.324).

President Wilford Woodruff stated: "the Gospel of modern Christendom shuts up the Lord, and stops all communication with Him. I want nothing to do with such a Gospel, I would rather prefer the Gospel of the dark ages, so called" (Journal of Discourses, vol. 2, p.196).

According to your post Ess 12:

12 Be warned, my son, of anything in addition to them. Of making many books there is no end, and much study wearies the body

Than Elsie with your reasoning should that not also make the need for New Testament questionable too?

Scripture is not deficient. Joseph Smith was deficient, and the book of fiction that he came up with is deficient. You know in your heart that his writings are not solid, but that Scripture is solid. Turn to the Lord Jesus Christ, my friend, and away from this body of false doctrine conjured up by a man whose imagination got the best of him. Turn to Jesus, whose story is told in Scripture, not in the writings of Joseph Smith.

Um, you’re not a Christian because you say you’re not a Christian. Your entire faith is built on the fact that you deny Scripture, but embrace the new writings of Joseph Smith. You are not a “Christian,” because you claim to instead be a “Latter Day Saint.”

God has preserved Scripture. Joseph Smith has invented it. His imagination got the best of him, and his writings spiraled into this big concoction known as “Mormonism.” And, sadly, he convinced some people to believe him.

Honestly, there are no golden plates, no reading stones, no demon known as “Moroni.” Turn to the pure truth of Christ, who is described in Scripture ...

This has nothing to do with Jesus being or not being completed or takes away anything it is about the rest of the children returning home in the latter days.

It is the LDS belief that in the Latter days Jesus restore His Church once more upon the earth.

For many reason to prepare for His second coming and to gather the flock and a place to take refuge (Zion) during he coming storm of trials and tribulations.

So much is being done most folks are not even aware nor care some only wish to weight down the load!

I say if the boys on the bicycles with the white shirts knock on your door, tell them no thank you. Until then, it should not be anyone's business what happens in your tabernacle.

I feel we should all be united against evil misogynist bloodthirsty Islam. I see the issue in your posting as a possible attempt by some low-minded few to divide us all and very well could disguise backdoor antisemitism, what with the high esteem that Mormonism holds for Israel.

I could never get my mind around Golden Tablets hidden in upper New York State. Plus, Baptizing one's long dead Great Great Grandfather into the church even if he was a Baptist preacher seems a little far-fetched. And although this goes really way back, the Mountain Meadows massacre still doesn't speak very well for the church as a whole. I mean, The Prophet said murder and they murdered, was clearly not the right way to get close to God. We were supposed to be over that sort of thing in America by then.

Still and all that said, Mormon's I have met seem to have something going for themselves. They definitely take care of their own and they sometimes take care of the lost and defeated that have been overlooked by others.

To: Elsie; All
I studied Mormonism for a couple of years when my dad was working in Utah. Rode the train out to see him & mom, and got to know what Mormons say about Jesus. I have the following Big Beefs with the doctrine:

1. The Mormons claim that they are the restored Aaronic priesthood, and they even go so far as to get names of a tribe they claim to be a part of. Yet the Bible clearly shows that only members of the tribe of Levi can be priests. If a king of Israel was turned into a leper when he offered incense to God, what makes me think God will accept anything of mine if I operate outside His rules?

2. By putting themselves back into the Aaronic priesthood, aren't Mormons putting themselves back under the whole law, which denies the Messiah? Where is the temple sacrifices to atone for sin? Why do the priests not have an ark? When was the last time a Mormon girl did the ritual cleansing as required by the Law? If Mormons are going to put themselves back under the law, aren't they going to be judged by it? Paul clearly says that the law is supposed to be our tutor, to point us toward Jesus so that we can see that only His blood can save us.

3. Who's the guy Joshua meets? He's not an angel, He's not a man. Who is He?

4. The whole Egyptian thing. Smith didn't know his hieroglyphics, and it bit him in the butt when he was caught saying things the writings didn't say. "Holy Spirit hovering over Joseph's body" indeed.

5. Contrary to previous posts, prior to AD300, the early church had a very firm grasp on what was what as far as doctrine went. The early writings, The Didache and the Shepherd of Hermes, are classic examples of early Christian writings. The councils called by Constantine were peopled by survivors of the Roman persecutions, powerful thinkers and writers and preachers who knew who Jesus was: fully God and fully Man, unmade by anyone, One with the Father from all eternity.

6. The same word the Mormons point out for "paradise" in the expression "the third heaven" is the same word Jesus uses when He speaks to the thief on the cross: "Today you will be with me in Paradise." How can the thief go to the highest place, when he's not done any of the things the LDS church says he needs to do to get there? Or did God suddenly change His mind and give the guy a pass simply because he was being crucified next to His Son?

BTW, one of the guys at the first council was a guy named Nicolas. When Arius got up and started spouting off his belief that Jesus was a created being, and not fully god, Nicolas got up and clocked the guy. Good job, that.

... as opposed to every other religion out there after money, power, and your unquestioning loyalty.

ALL religion is man-made, from the days of the cave dwellers; created by the fat, lazy, perverted, lying coward, who figured he would rather stay at the fire with the women and children, rather than risk getting stomped by the mammoth. So he fabricated some superstitious reason why the other men should trust him with their women and children, and why his fat, lazy, perverted, lying carcass was somehow less expendable than those of the other men.

Thus has it been for tens of thousands of years.

God must laugh at all the fools.

The first thing that strikes me about the Mormon doctrine is the belief ... “As man is, God was, As God is, man may become” - this is so obviously the original sin - “I will be like the Most-High” for both Lucifer and Adam/Eve - “He knows you will be like Him”...I need not go further into the teachings of LDS than that. I do pray that the Lord will touch the hearts of those blinded by these lies and save them.

The Anti-Mormon activist presence here has no interest in the truth. They only continously spew their propaganda. It is an obsession that blinds them.

Anyone reading these posts, research what they are regurgitating for yourself. Put forth some effort and you will see just how deceptive the anti-Mormon claims are. Some of it is outright false. Some of it is a little truth mixed with with falsehoods. Some of it is just plain mis-represented.

Look into these claims. All of them. You will have “ahah” moments one after another as you realize the techniques used against the LDS church and see that you are not being fed the whole, accurate truth. You do want the truth right?
