Any one remember this way back in 1981? The Mormon Tabernacle Choir singing Battle Hymn of the Republic to Ronald Reagan at the Inaugural Parade.
Possibly the best or second best patriotic song to ever be written....
Mine eyes have seen the glory of the coming of the Lord; He is trampling out the vintage where the grapes of wrath are stored. He hath loosed the fateful lightning of His terrible swift sword; His truth is marching on!
[chorus]
Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! Glory! Glory! Hallelujah! His truth is marching on.
I have seen Him in the watch-fires of a hundred circling camps; They have builded Him an altar in the evening dews and damps. I can read His righteous sentence by the dim and flaring lamps; His day is marching on!
[chorus]
I have read a fiery gospel writ in burnished rows of steel; "As ye deal with my contemners, so with you my grace shall deal; Let the Hero, born of woman, crush the serpent with his heel, Since God is marching on."
[chorus]
He has sounded forth the trumpet that shall never call retreat; He is sifting out the hearts of men before His judgment-seat; Oh, be swift, my soul, to answer Him! be jubilant, my feet! Our God is marching on!
[chorus]
In the beauty of the lilies Christ was born across the sea, With a glory in his bosom that transfigures you and me; As he died to make men holy, [b]let us die to make men free[/b], While God is marching on.
[chorus]
Ronald Reagan—NOT ASHAMED TO BE AN AMERICAN
It was played as a dirge during the processional down Constitution Ave.
It was then played as a spiritual at the funeral at the National Cathedral.
It was finally played as a triumphant march at the sunset burial at Simi Valley.

How many times are you going to post this thread, this is the second time in the last 10 hours.
The next President who is willing to lead by example and bring God back into public life will have great success.
Until then, we will have continued decline and hopelessness
This is the politically correct version. The real words are, “as he died to make men holy, let us die to make men free.”
In my opinion, the more moving use of this song was at the National Cathedral, the Friday after 9/11. At the end of the memorial service, the representatives from each military branch marched out carrying their battle streamers, knowing they would be off to war very very soon. It brought chills down my spine and tears to my eyes.
