Quite reasonably, the current Introduction to the Book of Mormon begins, The Book of Mormon is a volume of holy scripture comparable to the Bible....
Yet...we are likely to point out some significant differences as well...
...The Bible is more of a library than a single book, and there are tremendous differences in genre...
At first glance, the contents of the Book of Mormon appear to be similarly diverse...On closer inspection... the Book of Mormon turns to be entirely narrative. The whole book takes the form of a story told by narrators...but we know who is responsible for every word in the Book of Mormon. Its either Nephi, Jacob, Mormon, or Moroni (plus a few minor authors...). This means that the Book of Mormon, as a whole, is a much more integrated and deliberately constructed volume than the Bible.
...the Book of Mormon operates by very different literary principles than the Bible. Consider the characteristics of Old Testament narrators as described by Shimon Bar-Efrat, formerly of Hebrew University at Jerusalem:
The narrator in most biblical narratives appears to be omniscient
Biblical narrators do not usually mention themselves
Biblical narrators [generally] make no reference to their activity in writing the narratives
The narrators do not...address their audience directly
Outside the books of Kings there are very few instances in which the narrator passes judgment
How many of these statements are true of the Book of Mormon? None of them.
Nephi, Jacob, Mormon, and Moroni are...often...participants in the stories...They interrupt their narratives regularly to tell us about their lives, their testimonies, and their desires. They worry about their weakness in writing (Eth. 12:23, 40; cf. 2 Ne. 33:1, 4). And they do not hesitate to address readers directly to explain their intentions,...editorial techniques,...emotional responses to...events...

Oh, I could quote from the Bible, too, and twist the words and take them out of context to suit my own agenda

You do, all the time. At least you admit it.
Joseph Smith said his name would be known for good and evil. You know his name for evil; I know his name for good. Thank you for fulfilling prophesy.

That isn’t a prophecy, that is a ‘Captain Obvious’ statement.
Are you really that dumb? Really?
Saundra, shall we review what we have learned about the LDS holy ghost by reading that book written by your leadership? Remember?
The holy ghost is not omnicient nor omnipresent. He is another one of the millions of spirit babies of heavenly father and (one of the) heavenly mother. That makes him a spirit brother to Jesus and Satan and all of us. He is on probation and was appointed to his position, which if he fulfills satisfactorily, will earn him a body.
Did you forget already? It never said whether or not he had “fee-eeeelings”. I’d need a reference for that. Is that in the Articles of Faith?

Too bad that one false prophesy marks the prophet as FALSE.
WHAT?!?! Just when I think I've heard the worst sort of garbage from this religion, something even worse comes along. Please tell me more!
Thanks for clarifying what androids are.
This is opposed to "feelings"
"In answer to our prayers, the Holy Ghost will teach us through our feelings and thoughts...typically through feelings of their hearts." (Preach the Gospel, p. 39; this is the "2004 handbook utilized by the Mormon missionaries") [7]
They receive something called a burning in the bosom as a confirmation of truth.
No facts, no history, no rational thought, no evidence.............feelings, whooooaaa feelings!
Remember, I used to be an anti Mormon, too.

The more you post, the less I believe this claim. I don’t believe you were ever a real “anti” for a couple of reasons.
1) If you were, you would know your Bible better than what you have displayed here.
and
2) You would know Mormon doctrine better, and have better responses to our questions than post the Articles of Faith.
I suspect you saw ‘the God makers’ once (which is a laughable movie for the most part) and therefore say you were an anti.
I’m not buying it. You apparently don’t know enough to be an ‘anti’
8. Papyrus Bar Kokhba 44the Alma Scroll
5/6Heb 44
Scroll type: Simple deed
Date: 28 Marheshvan, Year 3 of Revolt (134 CE)
Language: Hebrew
Discovered: Cave of the Letters, Nahal Hever, 1961
This scroll demonstrates that people outside the Qumran community also hid scrolls in the mudstone caves. It is a lease agreement, which dates to 134 CE, after the destruction of the Qumran settlement by Roman soldiers. It describes a transaction for land previously owned by the government of Simeon Bar Kosiba (Bar Kokhba); leader of the second Jewish Revolt against the Romans (132-135 CE). The document mentions Bar Kokhba by name and as the “Prince of Israel,” a historical reference to his brief tenure as leader in this period.
Latter-day Saints find this scroll of particular interest, because it specifies “Alma son of Judah” as one of the people involved in the agreement on the fourth line and at the bottom of the document. This text contains the oldest known occurrence of the name “Alma” outside of the Book of Mormon
I Will Be a Second MohammedIn the heat of the Missouri Mormon War of 1838, Joseph Smith made the following claim, I will be to this generation a second Mohammed, whose motto in treating for peace was the Alcoran [Koran] or the Sword. So shall it eventually be with usJoseph Smith or the Sword! [1] It is most interesting that a self-proclaimed Christian prophet would liken himself to Mohammed, the founder of Islam. His own comparison invites us to take a closer look as well. And when we do, we find some strikingand troublingparallels. Consider the following.
I have more to boast of than ever any man had. I am the only man that has ever been able to keep a whole church together since the days of Adam. A large majority of the whole have stood by me. Neither Paul, John, Peter, nor Jesus ever did it. I boast that no man ever did such a work as I. The followers of Jesus ran away from Him, but the Latter-day Saints never ran away from me yet.[4] In light of these parallels, perhaps Joseph Smiths claim to be a second Mohammed unwittingly became his most genuine prophecy of all. [1] Joseph Smith made this statement at the conclusion of a speech in the public square at Far West, Missouri on October 14, 1838. This particular quote is documented in Fawn M. Brodie, No Man Knows My History, second edition, (New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1971), p. 230231. Fawn Brodies footnote regarding this speech contains valuable information, and follows. Except where noted, all the details of this chapter [16] are taken from the History of the [Mormon] Church. This speech, however, was not recorded there, and the report given here is based upon the accounts of seven men. See the affidavits of T.B. Marsh, Orson Hyde, George M. Hinkle, John Corrill, W.W. Phelps, Samson Avard, and Reed Peck in Correspondence, Orders, etc., pp. 579, 97129. The Marsh and Hyde account, which was made on October 24, is particularly important. Part of it was reproduced in History of the [Mormon] Church, Vol. III, p. 167. See also the Peck manuscript, p. 80. Joseph himself barely mentioned the speech in his history; see Vol. III, p. 162. Well, you are not the final authority, thank Goodness.

As Christians, we HAVE authority, straight from Jesus Christ, no pretend ‘priesthood’ needed. All believers are priests and as Christians we are to judge false and true doctrine and those who claim to be believers.

3. In their greed these teachers will exploit you with stories they have made up. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Gee Saundra, based on a lease agreement left by an unknown group and hidden in a mud cave, I guess ...THE BOM IS TRUE!
I love my Church; I love my Savior; I love Heavenly Father and the Holy Ghost.

NOTICE SHE LISTS “THE CHURCH” FIRST. That is where the LDS TRULY place their faith.
We believe in the gift of tongues, prophecy, revelation, visions, healing, interpretation of tongues, and so forth.
...and so forth???
What the hell does THAT mean??
Interesting that you would bring that up. Why did God mandate only one temple in the old testament but the LDS build as many as possible now days?
