Pray for our American Heroes
6-6-10

Posted on 06/06/2010 10:09:42 AM PDT by Kitty Mittens

Psalm 25:4-7

Show me Thy Ways, O Lord, and Teach me Thy Paths.
Lead me Forth in Thy Truth, and Teach me: for Thou art the God of my Salvation:
In Thee do I Trust All the Day.
Remember, O Lord, Thy Tender Mercies, and Thy Lovingkindness:
For they have been Forever.
Remember not the Sins of my Youth, nor my Rebellions,
But According to Thy Kindness Remember Thou me,
Even for Thy Goodness Sake, O Lord.

Our Father of Grace,

'Be Thou Exalted, O Lord, in Thy Strength; so will we Sing and Praise Thy Power.' (Ps.21:13) 'O Lord, our Lord, how Excellent is Thy Name in the All the Earth!' (Ps.8:1) 'I will Praise the Lord with my Whole Heart: I will Speak of All Thy Marvelous Works.' (Ps.9:1) We Love you, Dear Father, and Trust in Your Beloved Son!

With Thanksgiving, Lord, we Pray for our Courageous Troops. May the Goodness of Jehovah Encircle them, and Your Mercies Go before them Day and Night. Please Rest them Always in the Safety of Your Strong Right Hand. May Jesus be Foremost in Every Man's Heart and Life. For our Military Men we Pray Psalm 13:5: 'I Trust in Thy Mercy: mine Heart Shall Rejoice in Thy Salvation; I will Sing to the Lord, because He hath Dealt Lovingly with me.'

Your Majesty, we Intercede for our Wayward, Sinful Land. We Long that Your Name, Lord, will be Reverenced in our USA. Please Turn the Hearts of the People to our Lord Jesus Christ. May Grace Intervene; May Forgiveness Rain Down Upon us All. 'Show me Thy Ways, O Lord, and Teach me Thy Paths. Lead me Forth in Thy Truth, and Teach me: for Thou art the God of my Salvation: in Thee do I Trust All the Day. Remember, O Lord, Thy Tender Mercies, and Thy Lovingkindness: for they have been Forever. Remember not the Sins of my Youth, nor my Rebellions, but According to Thy Kindness Remember Thou me, even for Thy Goodness Sake, O Lord.' (Ps.25:4-7)

Thank You, our Abba, for Hearing the Prayers of Your Lambs. 'Sing Praises unto the Lord, ye His Saints, and Give Thanks before the Remembrance of His Holiness.' (Ps.30:4) In Jesus' Name, we Magnify the Name of the King, amen.

PRAYERS GOING UP FOR OUR AMERICAN HEROES AND NATION!

GEORGE WASHINGTON – THE PRAYER AT VALLEY FORGE

In the coldest and darkest days of the American Revolution, General George Washington raised his prayers for the survival of his beleaguered Army and of the new Nation. The Lord answered those prayers, upheld his Army through a punishing nadir to everlasting glory and bestowed His manifold benefits upon the new Nation.

In like manner, let our prayers now rise for our heroes in the American military who seek to secure the benefits of Freedom on behalf of a people hungry for them. Father, look on our prayers for them with favor, guide their steps in righteousness and keep them in the shelter of Your healing wings. Bless and uphold them in the performance of their Mission. Through Jesus Christ, Your Son, Amen.

A Hero Who Healed
June 6, 2010

Corporal Desmond Doss was the first conscientious objector to earn the Congressional Medal of Honor, the United States’ highest military award. A devout follower of Christ, Doss believed that it was not right for him to kill others, but he wanted to serve his country so he volunteered as a medic. During boot camp, his fellow soldiers ridiculed him for refusing to fire a rifle. They mocked him when he read his Bible and knelt beside his bunk at night to pray. But in combat, it was a different story.

During the World War II battle for Okinawa in May 1945, Doss repeatedly risked his life to rescue scores of wounded men. Through his unselfish actions, he earned the gratitude and respect of his former critics and of those whose lives he saved.

In the face of unjust criticism, Peter told his fellow Christians, “Even if you should suffer for righteousness’ sake, you are blessed. ‘And do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled’ ” (1 Peter 3:14). He urged them to honor God in their hearts and be ready to give a respectful reply to anyone who asked about the hope within them (v.15).

May our response to a hurting world that’s often hostile to Christ be one that demonstrates God’s love.

We’re told to love the enemies
That in this life we face,
For showing love that’s not deserved
Reveals to them God’s grace. —Bosch
To return good for good is human; to return good for evil is divine.

Read: 1 Peter 3:8-17

Do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled. —1 Peter 3:14

One of Our Heroes Gets To See His New Hero Over The Internet!

Oh LORD, Our One and Only God!
How Excellent is Your Most Holy Name!
How Wonderful,
How Holy,
How Righteous and How Just and True You Are!
For You Alone Are Worthy Of Praise and Worship,
And You Alone Transcend Time and Space,
For You Alone Are The Creator of All That Is!

We Thank Your For Our Beautiful Nation,
For The Forsight of the Founding Fathers,
For Our Founding Documents That Were Inspired by Your Word,
By Our Wonderful Scenic Beauty and Natural Resources,
And Most of All, Our Precious American Heroes,
Who have sacrificed so much so that we can remain Free.
Be with them, Father,
And provide for their families,
And keep them in Your tender care.
In Jesus Name.
Amen
