I’m holding in my hand my black hardcover copy of Mormon Doctrine by Bruce R. McConkie, one of Mormonism’s most influential books, an all-time Mormon bestseller, which went out of print this week.
A book written, I’m sure, with the best of intentions by a revered Mormon leader. And, still, a book that continued to circulate even after other high-ranking Mormon leaders recommended more than one thousand corrections to its content.
A book that called Roman Catholicism the “Church of the Devil.” And a book that elevated to doctrinal status non-doctrinal folklore about the origins of the LDS Church’s ban on conveying priesthood authority to members of African descent, claiming that blacks were the descendents of the accursed Cain.
A book that due to its authoritative presentation and doctrinal fundamentalism gave many Mormons reasons for grief.
Mormon Doctrine (1958 – 2010), RIP.

I was raised in a Baptist Church with no affiliation. We ain’t Southern Baptist or belonging to any group.
We are Christians, worshiping in the Baptist tradition.
Did I tell you what happened to me Monday morning ???
I left home real early to go to Nashville for an appointment..
When I got about 40 miles from my house I went over a rough part of the highway that always makes a whirry sound like there might be something wrong with the car...
I was use to the sound but there seemed to be something different this time...
I thought about stopping...I was facing a high mountain about 30 miles on. ...
But I didnt stop at the next exit but kept going...the car was running fine..
I passed the exit and thought ..well Its OK...but I knew it wasnt...
God said to me “Stop at the next exit”
So I did...I pulled into a big gas station and looked at the tires...
There was a big bubble on the outside of the front passenger tire...a fairly new tire...
I had to apologize to God for not listening the first time...
I said to God “Now its only just after 6 AM and theres nothing open and wont be for a while...I trust you ...and you just saved my life...I’m going to trust you that I can go back down the highway to the nearest Walmart and miss the rush hour and make it OK...”
And so I did...I had to go alonfg a very fast stretch of road...but there was not bumper to bumper traffic yet and the other drivers just seemed to accommodate me as I moved along at 50 to their 75-80..not one tooted...
I got to the Walmart about 6.50 and left my car...
When I went back a man said he didnt know how the tire hadnt burst...I was lucky etc..
I was able to witness to him that Jesus had saved my life...
He listened too...
BTW I only had to pay $10...
Jesus looks after me real good...

The mormon heirarchy has borrowed from the South American dictators...they are "disappearing" any historical proof of the early doctrine and teachings, just like the dictators "disappeared" dissidents.
