Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem~The Book of Ruth

The Book of Ruth
Chapter Three

Boaz Will Redeem Ruth

1. Then Naomi her mother-in-law said to her, "My daughter, shall I not seek security for you, that it may be well with you?

2. "Now is not Boaz our kinsman, with whose maids you were? Behold, he winnows barley at the threshing floor tonight.

3. "Wash yourself therefore, and anoint yourself and put on your best clothes, and go down to the threshing floor; but do not make yourself known to the man until he has finished eating and drinking.

4. "It shall be when he lies down, that you shall notice the place where he lies, and you shall go and uncover his feet and lie down; then he will tell you what you shall do."

5. She said to her, "All that you say I will do."

6. So she went down to the threshing floor and did according to all that her mother-in-law had commanded her.

7. When Boaz had eaten and drunk and his heart was merry, he went to lie down at the end of the heap of grain; and she came secretly, and uncovered his feet and lay down.

8. It happened in the middle of the night that the man was startled and bent forward; and behold, a woman was lying at his feet.

9. He said, "Who are you?" And she answered, "I am Ruth your maid. So spread your covering over your maid, for you are a [a]close relative."

10. Then he said, "May you be blessed of the LORD, my daughter. You have shown your last kindness to be better than the first by not going after young men, whether poor or rich.

11. "Now, my daughter, do not fear. I will do for you whatever you ask, for all my people in the city know that you are a woman of excellence.

12. "Now it is true I am a close relative; however, there is a relative closer than I.

13. "Remain this night, and when morning comes, if he will redeem you, good; let him redeem you But if he does not wish to redeem you, then I will redeem you, as the LORD lives. Lie down until morning."

14. So she lay at his feet until morning and rose before one could recognize another; and he said, "Let it not be known that the woman came to the threshing floor."

15. Again he said, "Give me the cloak that is on you and hold it." So she held it, and he measured six measures of barley and laid it on her. Then she went into the city.

16. When she came to her mother-in-law, she said, "How did it go, my daughter?" And she told her all that the man had done for her.

17. She said, "These six measures of barley he gave to me, for he said, 'Do not go to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'"

18. Then she said, "Wait, my daughter, until you know how the matter turns out; for the man will not rest until he has settled it today."

Pray For The Peace Of Jerusalem~The Book of Ruth

Ruth and Boaz by Millet

Oh Most Gracious and Wonderful LORD!
How Precious and Holy is Your Word.
And How Lovely!

9. He said, "Who are you?"
And she answered, "I am Ruth your maid.
So spread your covering over your maid,
for you are a [a]close relative."

10. Then he said,
"May you be blessed of the LORD,
my daughter.
You have shown your last kindness to be better than the first
by not going after young men,
whether poor or rich.

11. "Now, my daughter, do not fear.
I will do for you whatever you ask,
for all my people in the city
know that you are a woman of excellence.

Abba, we thank You for this Story of the Kinsman Redeemer, and for Your precepts that demonstrate how You care even for the very least among us.

14. So she lay at his feet until morning and rose before one could recognize another; and he said, "Let it not be known
that the woman came to the threshing floor."

15. Again he said,
"Give me the cloak that is on you and hold it."
So she held it,
and he measured six measures of barley and laid it on her.
Then she went into the city.

16. When she came to her mother-in-law,
she said, "How did it go, my daughter?"
And she told her all that the man had done for her.

17. She said, "These six measures of barley he gave to me,
for he said, 'Do not go to your mother-in-law empty-handed.'"

18. Then she said, "Wait, my daughter,
until you know how the matter turns out;
for the man will not rest until he has settled it today."

Father, we thank You for this Real Story about Real People!
It touches our hearts that
even when Israel was mired in the Time of the Judges,
when this took place,
You were watching over the lives of two poor, lonely widows in Israel.
It amazes us that these widows would end up in the blood line of the Author of Psalms,
and twenty-eight Generations later,
The Author and Finisher of Our Faith!(MT.1)
Abba, we Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem, According to Your Will and Promise!(Ps 122:6)
We Pray for your provision, just as You provided for Ruth and Naomi.
We pray that You will Redeem Your Kinsmen Israel
out of the hand of the curse that besets them on every side.

We pray also for the other children of Abraham,
As Ruth was a Moabite,
A distant Descendant of Lot,
That You will show them mercy as well, as You did to Ruth.
We Pray that they will throw down their arms,
And Embrace the One True God of Abraham,

Dear Abba, We Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem,
And for those within her gates.
Almighty God, We pray so Fondly for Your Beloved!
We Pray that as You Call Them Home,
from the East and From The West,
From The North and from the South,
From Out of the Lands of persecution and Bitterness,
Of Paganism and Slavery and Bondage,
Of places that were never really home to them,
Places that only brought famine, infertility, widowhood, and abandonment,
and bring them Home to Peace and Abundance and Your Provision.

We ask for forgiveness for ourselves,
Dear Father, and we Pray for Our Nation.
We ask You to reverse the trends of evil and selfishness
that have taken hold in our own Land.
We beg that You will restore Faith in You,
The One True God,
and that Our own Nation will Once Again be Known
as one who keeps Her Promises to Her Friends and Allies,
and NOT as A Truce-Breaker.

Abba Father, How we long for that Day,
When You will remove From Your Holy Place
ANYTHING that does not Honor You,
and You ALONE.

LORD, We Pray For The Peace of Jerusalem,
For Israel, and For The Jewish People.
We Thank You Profoundly For That Tiny Nation
that sits at the Very Crossroads of History,
At the Nexus of Three Continents,
A Holy Witness to The Ultimate Truth of Your WORD!
For it is Not By Might,
Not By Power,
But By Your Spirit that the enemy will be overcome.

We Plead For Israeli Control Over All the Holy Sites in Israel,
So that People of All Faiths may visit them.
We Pray For Bibi Netayahu, and the Leaders of Israel
May They Receive Wisdom from You to do the Right Thing.
We Pray For The Swift and Sure Coming of Messiah,
Blessed Be He,
To Establish His Kingdom,
and Make All Things Right.

Blessings To All Who Visit This Thread

Hallelujah and Amen

___________________________________________________________

A while back I did a Bible study on the ‘blood avenger’ very interesting; and it included the ‘kinsman Redeemer’ , and how it worked it those days. Of course it was on the Book of Ruth and related scriptures.

God works in mysterious ways his wonders to accomplish. I love the part about Esther ...” who knows, perhaps you were born for such a time as this”.

We do well to remember it includes us and our daily interactions. We are given opportunities with which to respond, we can do the right thing then or it will pass and we made a poor decision. We may never get the opportunity to effect that particular situation or circumstance again. Feed the starving, save a life, bless a family, child,or a ill person, ... to tell someone about Jesus. Timing is there at the moment. Do we act with compassion, love, kindness, etc.? So often we brush things aside. Too busy. Have more important things to do., etc.

Let us live in such a way that we know God is with us and we are to respond as He would respond; as we are ever growing into the image of Christ Jesus. In the NOW.

Holy Father, hear our prayer, You are AWESOME, MAJESTIC, ALL POWERFUL, RIGHTEOUSNESS, MERCIFUL, SOVEREIGN, OMNIPRESENT,OMNIFICIENT, ABOVE ALL, THROUGH ALL AND IN ALL, YOUR BLESSINGS AND PROMISES ARE FOREVER TO those that come and surrender their life to YOU, in obedience and love for You and for the brethren. Loving our neighbor as our self. Help us to shine the light of Your Son, and Your Word in the world. Forgive us our daily offenses as we forgive those that make offenses to us. Protect us from evil. Bless America, Israel, the lost, the persecuted believers in the world, Muslims, and Jerusalem, draw all men to You, Father, in Jesus name, amen.
