The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand!
The Ignorant Fishermen Blog ^ | 5/19/10 | DJP I.F.

(In light of the acceleration of the Leftist agenda here in America.)

The phrase, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at Hand,” is the signoff slogan and repetitive theme of the Ignorant Fishermen Blog.

Those Americans who follow the game of politics generally miss - especially in the light of today’s global setting - that all things are working to this end.

If the leaders of the American political spectrum - Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, Michael Savage, President Obama, Harry Reid, Chris Dodd, Barney Frank, Bill and Hillary Clinton, John McCain, Scott Brown, Nancy Pelosi, Katie Couric, Dick Cheney, Chris Matthews, Bill O’Reilly, etc. - truly comprehended the day and the hour in which we live, they would put aside all of their political agendas and ideological differences and preach with trembling fear, “The Kingdom of Heaven is at hand!”

If these talking heads of American politics would truly believe Almighty God and His Word, they would comprehend the realities of both TIME and ETERNITY. Sadly, most will not. These all give a deaf ear to the alarm bells and sirens warning of a coming Day of Reckoning.

How amazing it is today that these signs are ridiculed and mocked by the world.

Yes, but that too was predicted.

The only thing that keeps me sane in these days is the fact that God is in control and everything happens according to his plan.

Sane? Rejoice - He is calling out a people to Himself in these last days, while bringing this chapter to a close. And contrary to “popular” opinion (that of the world)...that’s a good thing!

Remember that only a remnant will be saved, and that remnant will be humble in spirit in order to hear His voice.

I sense your zeal for the Lord, but may I remind you...

“But as the days of Noah [were], so also will the coming of the Son of Man be.

For as in the days before the flood, they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered the ark, and did not know until the flood came and took them all away, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be. Mat 24:37-39

Also, “Be ye also patient; stablish your hearts: for the coming of the Lord draweth nigh.” James 5:8

“And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.”
Luke 21:28

Still serving as a volunteer cheerleader for the other team? “Rejoice! The devil is winning! We are more impotent than ever! WHOOPEE!!!”

It’s more fun serving a currently reigning King, and knowing that my work will bear fruit for his glory and my neighbor’s blessing, that it is to play “count the warts on the antichrist’s nose” with the soothsayers, fortune tellers, and doomsayers.

Interesting that the article (at least the snippet posted here) doesn’t mention Glenn Beck. This morning on his radio show he - again - was alluding to these being the last days. Tarry not, your coming dear Lord.

Every day, the Kingdom is at hand... and so is the King!
If your life is lived according to His will, it will not matter when He returns to end this realm and institute the NEXT!

There will be more earthquakes tomorrow! God will still be in control. It doesn’t matter when HE returns! It does matter how you live today!

Well, you keep your eyes on the eastern sky, looking. Meanwhile, faithful believers will be attending to their assigned tasks on the ground. And the incompetent grandchildren of the sky-gazers will beg the productive grandchildren of the faithful believers for a few crumbs from their tables, for a few fragments of the action.

Do you and Rushdoony believe we can multitask? I believe we can. I'll be busy, but I'll also be attending to what Paul wrote to us for our guidance. I know you're postmillennial, but it sounds like you think the kingdom of God will be brought in by the church's effort rather than by the intervention of God's spirit. I don't think a biblically sound postmillennialist would hold to that. If you believe in a future kingdom, and if you believe it's mainly God's doing, then you'll be looking for God's glory to appear in a way we have not yet seen in this age.

Your reply is kinder than mine, so chalk one up for your side of the friendly in-house debate! (((((( fraternal embrace )))))))

You present a false antithesis. Reconsider the doctrine of the Incarnation, please. God works simultaneously through His Spirit and through human means. Being in on what God is up to is the grandest adventure available to us. We know that our feeble efforts, placed in the hands of Jesus, and with His blessings upon them, are more than sufficient to achieve His goals.

It's interesting -- pietists tend to substitute human effort for divine unction in the one area God does claim as His own bailiwick -- the work of regeneration. Charles G. Finney, the American Pelagian, invented the whole technology of mass-producing false conversions used to this day in Anabaptist churches. Then, these folks tend to ask God to do the things He expects us to do. Go figure!

LOL! I hate a false antithesis and am glad you don't hold to it. If you'll remember to give God the glory, I'll remember not to sit on my backside.

Yes, it's been at hand for a couple thousand years.

Repent! Or else . . . (excerpted, go away).
