thanks for posting this thoughtful analysis
the post-conciliar changes to the liturgy seem to have shaken people awake and forced people to think about our faith by pushing hard in a new direction
this new translation will do the same, but this time it will be a course correction that compensates for the errors made when using those faulty AmChurch compasses
The closer the text to the original, the better. Anything else is watered down and banal. The Mass is celebrating the Lord’s laying down His Life for us, and His Resurrection, it’s not a McDonald’s menu.
Such stubborn, intransigent, and non-empathetic dunces these people are. And what about 1970, when you high-handed elitists upended 1500 years of tradition and left people in the pews wondering what the hay just happened to the Catholic Church?
This time, my friend, it was not Rome decreeing a Novus Ordo by fiat but the various *episcopal conferences* of English-speaking nations that voted to put this thing in place. Rome is just ratifying what *we* decided. Despotism....pshaw.
To read later.
A lot is going to depend on the attitudes of the priests and the bishop of each diocese, just as it did with the new Catechism.
