Joel chapter 3-signs in the sky

Last Wednesday evening I did n exposition of Joel chapter three ,which includes a warning of signs in the sky,"Blood and fire and vapors of smoke" before the great and terrible "day of the Lord". within two hours, our evening sky was lit up with a meteorite! The next day, all flights in and out of a vast portion of Europe, because of a volcanic ash cloud. Everybody get ready- the day of the Lord is at hand!

There is nothing more entertaining than watching dispensational futurists chase headlines. Eschatology is the sports section of the theological newspaper. However, if it keeps one prepared and watching for the thief in the night, that’s a good thing.

Imminence means it could be today, not that it has to be today. The point of looking at signs (which we have been taught to do) is that it’s sobering to know it’s more likely now than it ever has been. True, it might be delayed. Our job is to be ready. “Watch!”

No it doesn't matter because God told them that their restoration would be in stages, "first the bones, then the flesh and finally at the end, the would be spiritually restored, by recognising the Messiah whom they pierced. Ezekiel 37, Zechariah 12. Also Ezekiel 36 tells us that they would be brought back, in a state of unbelief, "Therefore say to the house of Israel, 'This is what the Sovereign LORD says: It is not for your sake, O house of Israel, that I am going to do these things, but for the sake of my holy name, which you have profaned among the nations where you have gone. 23 I will show the holiness of my great name, which has been profaned among the nations, the name you have profaned among them. Then the nations will know that I am the LORD, declares the Sovereign LORD, when I show myself holy through you before their eyes.

Yes, I'm a Preterist, it's true. But I'm not actually into messing with premillennialists in general. On the other hand I take quite a bit of enjoyment from messing with loons who see every headline as a sign of the end. And I don't try to do so on Preterist terms - I used to be a futurist (Amil), and I thought this stuff was loony then, too.
