Can anyone help me identify the quartet that performs this SWEET rendition of "Great Is Thy Faithfulness"?

.mp3 file at the link is only the first part of the whole song, reproduced for fair comment.

I thought at first that it might've been the Oak Ridge Boys, but can find no record of them having recorded this song.

Definitely not the Oak Ridge Boys nor the Blue Ridge Quartet. It doesn't sound like any Southern Gospel group that comes to mind. Actually, given the acapella singing, it sounds like a church of Christ quartet.

I imagined you had works of art and thought I'd have a go.

Singing groups are not my forte.

Did you try YouTube, or sampling songs with that title on an online music store such as iTunes or Amazon?

Here are the results of a YouTube search for “Great Is Thy Faithfulness”:

It’s a southern gospel group for sure. You might listen to the Liberty Five versions that are up on Youtube, but I don’t think it’s them. It does sound like more than a quartet however, and I can understand why you’re looking for more!

Here's another link to try: Primarily Acapella. About 1/4 of the way down on that page is URL pointing to ``Great Is Thy Faithfulness''. It's RealAudio which I currently don't have a player for at present. Maybe that's it or perhaps something close?

"You might listen to the Liberty Five versions..."

Liberty Five is who it reminded me of, but I really couldn't tell.

[...time passes...looking for a current RealPlayer for Linux...aha...found it]

Apropos ``Primarily Acapella'' in my prior message. Definitely not it, almost a doo-wop rendition, albeit acapella.

If you do find out, let us all know. Otherwise maybe we'll have to head to the Quartet Convention in Louisville (with Sarah Palin) and ask around, eh? :-)

Looked around on Amazon and iTunes but couldn’t find it. There is a software program I read about that “listens” to recorded music and identifies it (for some commercial or royalty purpose, I think).

Is the link working for ya’ll?

I have archaic MSNtv so very well could be my end.

King Vanity LOVES southern gospel music so we wanted to help.

Do you know if I can find them on my blackberry?

My feet are sooo sore but eventually I will have to get up so let me know and I will grab the blackberry next time I hobble up and over.

Yes, please post the answer to this thread when you find out, even if it’s twenty years from now. I know I’ve looked that long for some music that I heard once.

Would it be possible to post a link to the entire song for academic purposes and to aid in the search?

Only ten download available. I was going to try looking for embedded information in the file. Most mp3 have information such as title in the header area.

Just ran ``strings'' on the MPEG layer 3 audio file, hoping something would be buried in there...but alas, this is all I got:
TIT2 Great Is Thy Faithfulness
TPE1 Unknown Artist
TALB Unknown Album
Paging Chloe O'Brian. Please report to FR to help us identify this!

Yes, I’ve heard some people like the email system there. I was on Prodigy and Compuserve before AOL, then Earthlink. Now finally high speed with Cox Cable. If one could add up all of the time spent waiting for pages to load on a dial-up connection, I wonder how long it would be...probably at least months :)
